Wrike for Windows won't launch

Hello,

 

I just updated the desktop app to version 3.1.0.1631 on my Windows 10 build 18362.565. After the updates app no longer able to launch although when you monitor Task Manager you can still see the background process.

I have tried to:

  1. Launch Wrike after PC reboot.
  2. Uninstall Wrike then Reinstall with the latest version yet still not helping.

Although I still can use Wrike via Chrome, I prefer using it from the Desktop App. What actually I need to do here?

My desktop app just updated to the same version and I have the exact same issue, I can see the process running but the window itself doesn't load.

I've tried uninstalling and re-installing, tried the setup wizard's "Repair" option, but still it doesn't actually launch.

Note: to uninstall, I had to use the setup wizard's "Remove" option because the "Uninstall" option from Windows "Apps & Features" list does nothing. On my second attempt at reinstalling, I also deleted the "Program Files (x86)/Wrike.com/" and my user profile's "AppData/Roaming/Wrike/" folders before restarting and re-installing.

Hi everyone! Sorry again for the inconvenience! Here's the solution from our Support, hope this helps:

Our team checked this issue with our engineers and it looks like it's related to the fact that the new Desktop app version runs on the Electron version 6.0.0 which is not launching with Windows 10 Dark Mode. You can find additional details here: https://github.com/nklayman/vue-cli-plugin-electron-builder/issues/378.

In case you'd like to stay on the new version of Wrike for Windows App please make sure to turn off the Dark Mode and check if everything works fine in the Light Mode Windows.

If you rolled back to the previous version already you can download version 3.1.0 of Wrike for Windows App here.

At the moment we've decided to stop the distribution of the new Wrike for Windows App for Windows x64 so in case you want to stay on that version and wait until the issue with the Electron is fixed by a third party, you can download the previous version of Wrike for Windows App from Apps & Integrations portal.
