Dashboard All Except
Is there a way to create a dashboard widget to look at all folders except ones that you designate?
We have folders that contain templates, so I don't want those to show up in my dashboard. If I have a widget that shows tasks created by me, it includes those tasks within project templates.
Thank you for the help!
Hey Ben! There aren't any exclusion options in Wrike. I think if they added this feature, it would be a HUGE improvement to the platform! I added this request to the Product Feedback section of the community. Check it out and vote for it if you would like to see this feature! https://help.wrike.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/360006325654-Add-Exclusions-to-Filters-and-Dashbaords
As far as solving your problem without exclusions, we consider it a best practice to keep templates outside of our main work folder. In this screenshot, "Pelican Marketing" is the folder where we do EVERYTHING. Anytime I set up a dashboard or want to look at ALL work, I go to that folder. Templates are kept outside of this so they never appear in reports, lists, dashboards, etc.
Hope that helps!
Create a folder that is not a subfolder of the folder you want to have your dashboard for and call it Templates. Then move the folder that contains your template to this new Template folder. If you just have template tasks then add the template folder and remove the folder to which you want to create the dashboard for.
Hope that helps.

Ryan,
Thank you for your response. I want my dashboard to be able to view all of the folders within my company not related to our Templates folder.
Here is the setup that we have.
Department 1
subfolders
Department 2
subfolders
Department 3
subfolders
z. Templates
I want my dashboard to be able to view the folders "Department 1", "Department 2", and "Department 3", but to ignore z.Templates.
Is this possible? Or would I have to put Department 1, Department 2, and Department 3 into another folder (say, "Departments") and run the dashboard off of that parent folder?
Thank you.
If all of these folders are under one folder then yes create a folder called departments and move the folders Department 1-3 to that folder then create the dashboard with the parent folders of Departments.

Anna,
I voted for your post. I agree, that would be a huge improvement!
Thank you,
Ben
You can exclude folders from appearing in dashboard widgets by creating the widget from a search filter.
The only drawback with this method is that the created widget cannot be edited at all, i.e. if you need to change it, you'll have to do it all from scratch again.
Great workaround Daniel, thanks for posting!
Thank you, Daniel, this is great!
Is it true that it will not recognize subfolders? I have subfolders within "z. Templates" and it appears as though the command works only on the parent folder, but items from the subfolders comes through.
I will just list all the subfolders individually, but I was just curious.
Glad this was usefull to you, Ben!
Now that you mention it, it seems to be exactly as you described. I checked the widget I created ages ago, and I also listed all subfolders individually, so I seem to have run across the same problem.
I never knew about that functionality, Daniel! GREAT tip!
For the record, this functionality was removed with the switch to Lightspeed, about 2 months ago
