Calendar - drag and drop not working on Microsoft Surface

I have set up Calendars and on a desktop with a mouse i am able to drag and drop tasks between dates.  However, on a Microsoft Surface I am not able to (using the pen).  Does anybody else experience this?  is there a solution?
