Feature Request: Add Checkpoints Within a Single Task Timeline

Issue:
Some tasks include long waiting periods with predefined checkpoints (e.g., 3-month, 6-month, and 12-month reviews in a shelf-life study). Currently, users must create multiple tasks or subtasks just to represent these review points, cluttering timelines and reports.

Request:
Allow users to define checkpoints or milestones within a single task that appear as markers on the same task bar in Gantt and timeline views.
Each checkpoint could include a date, short label, and optional status indicator.

Why it matters:
This would simplify tracking long-duration tasks with scheduled reviews, reduce the number of redundant tasks, and make Gantt charts cleaner while still giving full visibility into upcoming checkpoints.

This sounds great. The Gantt charts get messy quickly and for cross-team work long-duration tasks are the key.
