What happened to numbers in user names?

We made it a best practice at our agency to include your PTO dates in your Wrike user name. This helps us in several ways. If you are messaging a resource about a question, you immediately see their PTO dates when @ commenting them. This also helps our Project Managers when scheduling tasks out as they can see when someone is out easily. We DO NOT use PTO calendars as this adversly effects our project schedules. 

Can you please tell me why this was done or if there is a way to bring this back?
