Suggested Enhancements for "Link to Database" Drop-Down – UI & Customization
Hello Wrike Team,
We’d like to suggest improvements for the "Link to Database" custom field to enhance both usability and performance. Currently, the drop-down menu displays results with a width that is significantly larger than Wrike’s usual standards for Single Select or Multi-Select fields. This inconsistency affects navigation and can cause latency when selecting data, especially in compact workspaces.

To address this, we propose the following solutions:
-
Dynamically Adjust the Drop-Down Width
- Adapt the width based on the current data while implementing a maximum limit to prevent excessive expansion.
- Introduce a horizontal scroll bar if necessary to maintain a clean layout without affecting usability.
-
Admin-Controlled Column Visibility in DataHub
- Add a feature in Wrike’s DataHub that allows administrators to show or hide specific columns in the drop-down list.
- This would ensure that only relevant data is displayed, improving clarity and navigation.
-
Customizable Drop-Down Layout per User/Project
- Allow users to configure their preferred drop-down layout at the project or personal level.
- This would enable teams to tailor the display based on their specific needs, ensuring a more efficient workflow.
Looking forward to your thoughts!
Great suggestions, Olivier Boivin! Thank you for sharing. I’ll pass this on to our Datahub team 👍🏽
