Hi there!

This morning (Saturday, March 1st), my phone's reminder app woke me up at 6 a.m. to open every single one of our seven Wrike production spaces, select Lock/unlock dates in the Timelog view, and lock the span of February's dates in each one of them. Lacking an automation for this, I've been doing this manual opeation for some years already, no matter whether the first of the month is on a weekday or weekend, New Year's Day or summer vacation.

Background:

We have a custom integration which exports last month's Wrike timelogs at midnight the first day each month and hands them over to Finance. Finance in turn uploads them to ERP as internal product costs. In order to prevent users from logging time in the past or making changes to existing entries after we hand the timelogs over to Finance, we need to lock the previous month's dates in Wrike/Timelog/Lock dates. Any hours logged in the previous month after the Timelog report has been created and sent to Finance would remain in limbo, since they wouldn't appear in neither the previous nor the next month's report.

We would be more than happy to include locking last month's dates in our custom timelog export integration, but that's apparently not possible using Wrike's API.

I would greatly appreciate a space or folder specific Timelog/Lock dates Automation:

"In specified space/folder, at specified [Date] & [Time], lock specified [Time frame] dates"

E.g. In "Company Ltd Production" space, on "every first day of month" at "00:00:01", lock "last month's" dates

(N.B. I wrote about this in reply to Betas and More - INTERVIEWS - Invoicing in Wrike already back in 2024. A few workarounds were suggested - see the thread - but they weren't applicable then, and they still aren't. As long as the API doesn't allow locking dates, Automation would be the next best solution.)
