Effort: Block Tasks for Automated Effort Distribution
Hello,
i would like to request a feature that allows to block the date of a task for the automated effort distribution. The behavior would be the same as a non-working-day. This would lead to much more flexibility and comfort in workload chart and resource view.
Example: The employee has a 8h project on Wednesday. From Monday to Friday he has a 32h project. So he will be working on it on the other days of the week.
Problem: When we use now the effort functionality (Basic mode) in the 32h project, the 32h are distributed to all 5 days instead of only 4. It would be correct, if the 32h would only be distributed to Mon-Tue and Thu-Fri instead.
Solution: We would like to set the 8h task on Wednesday to "block effort distribution" to ensure that surrounding projects/efforts are not added to this date. This shall have the same behavior as we would have added a non-working day in user's calendar (settings).
I know, there is also the effort mode "Flexible" that allow to manually specify any single day. However, as this must be configured manually it's too much effort and if the projects needs to be rescheduled, it must be adjusted again. We would rather like to utilize the effort mode "basic" with above described flexibility.
Add-On: Additionally, the feature could be extended by setting a task to "Non-working". That would allow to manage absences via tasks (currently we need to utilize the calendar functionality in user's settiings to do that).
Hi Marco Eberl 👋 We appreciate you taking the time to post such detailed feedback along with an example. We'll make sure it's forwarded to the relevant product team for review. Thank you!
