Projects in Board View

Currently it seems that you can only view Task level items in Board view. I'd like to request that an option for Project level items be added to board view to assist in higher level report outs.

Hey Tyler Buono, thank you for reaching out!

We have a similar thread here, and for now, this idea isn't on the team's roadmap.

Hi Lisa,

This most certainly should be on the team's roadmap - how this got a 'not planned' status in 2017 is ridiculous.

This feature is a fundamental requirement for product development management, and agile ways of working, where multiple projects are worked on.

Please prioritise a group by project filter on the board view - this is fundamental for any team that handles multiple projects at one time. This is business critical for my consultancy teams work.

The current workarounds are clunky (custom task manipulation to classify as projects) or require many clicks to complete all relevant tasks (use of custom dashboard), whereas a board view with swimlanes per project would majorly enhance the UX.

Here's my user story:

  • As a consultant working in a team that handles multiple projects at any one time,
I want to be able to have a board view that has swimlanes per project (Group by Project)
So that I can clearly see my consultancy teams work in progress at a glance, and update task status per project quickly and visually through dragging and dropping.

Hello Ben Keppie, thank you very much for taking the time to provide us with this detailed feedback, please rest assured that your comment has been passed to our Product Team.

I understand it is frustrating for you not to see this feature being implemented, especially taking into account that the suggestion has been active since 2017. I'm afraid that not all suggestions can be added to the platform as soon as we'd like to, however, our Team is aware of the popularity of this idea and we will keep you updated in case any changes are implemented.

Please, feel free to share any other questions you might have with us, and let us know if there is anything else we can help you with.

Thank you.

Hi,

I would like to say that others companies have views relating projects with tasks on kanban boards.
For example businessmap (kanbanize) where we can link those in a only board.
Do you have news about?

Hi @..., this feature has been requested since 2017. At our company we are looking to implement a Kanban view to manage in a more efficient way our projects portfolio. As Ben Keppie stated, this is fundamental for any team that handles multiple projects at once. It is a feature that has been requested by many users & the implementation won't take too much in terms of time & resources.

We need this feature as we are an international aerospace company managing several projects at once.

I want to view projects on a Kanban board. I have a folder with various projects (not tasks) sitting at different points in a funding pipeline and want to view them by pipeline stats (e.g. exploring, early discussion, design phase, in review)...seems this feature has been requested for a while...reiterating the need here.

Board view for projects would have a significant positive impact on Wrike's staying power within our organization.

The best workaround we have come up with is creating proxy tasks for each project with a link to the related project in the Description field. Implementing this workaround creates inertia and inefficiency, which in our self-managed environment is a barrier to adoption and erodes the value of the platform as a real-time single source of truth.

Hi all,
any updates on this feature?
We are about to make to 2 years of using wrike in our company. As we have been more proficient we have changed from multiple subtasks and standard workflow to even using custom workflows in project items. A Board view where we can present those multiple projects in a kanban way would greatly improve our way to communicate, report and prioritize to C-Levels the multiple projects our product development team has.

Thanks

Hello,

I'd like to jump on the bandwagon here. Is the ability to view projects within the board view on the roadmap anytime soon? This seems like a huge hole (as noted by myself and other users across the community). This is a must have feature.

We really need this. Currently, we had to create a custom item called "Project" and use it, because for the team in general, it’s much easier to visualize and manage projects in the Kanban format. We miss the benefits that come with the project, such as project progress, which we don’t have in tasks/custom items.

We also need this. We are thinking to move away because of this as we have too many projects to monitor and not having the possibility to view projects in the board is too big limitation.
