[From Wrike] ✨ Wrike Lightspeed Rollout ✨
Mostrada DestacadaHi everyone!
Wrike Lightspeed, our latest platform update, is now ready for release! Together, let's unveil what's in store for the upcoming weeks and where to learn more about all the recent and upcoming enhancements 🤩
Let’s dive right in 📌
💫 What is Wrike Lightspeed
Wrike Lightspeed is an enhanced platform based on three core values - ease of use, customisability, and scalability. It's tailor-made for teams, departments, and entire organisations to collaborate seamlessly. Coming with a sleek UI and a fully connected experience, launching Wrike Lightspeed is a giant leap forward from our classic Wrike suite.
We’ve introduced many improvements to the set of Wrike Lightspeed features and it currently consists of simplified navigation and reimagined design, new Table view, new Board view, new Item view, and Chart view.
📜 A Bit of History
As you may remember, we first announced the next-generation Wrike Lightspeed solution back in 2022 at our annual Wrike Collaborate conference.
Since then, we’ve been announcing all the changes and improvements, big and small, on Mondays in our Weekly Release Notes forum as well as through deep-dives in Brought to you by Wrike. We also invited you to webinars and shared Q&As.
Your feedback has been instrumental in our development process! We’ve asked you to provide it and validate changes, and we shared and discussed our roadmap with Community Ninjas.
This is a huge milestone for Wrike and we’d like to take a moment to say a very big thank you to everyone who’s been trying out new and updated features and views and providing feedback 💚
📚 Helpful Sessions & Resources
As we’re getting closer to the start of Wrike Lightspeed rollout to all accounts, here are a couple more helpful sessions we’re currently planning:
- A Wrike Lightspeed feedback sharing session for Community Ninjas on July 11th. If you have a Black or Green Community belt, make sure to check out this thread in the exclusive Ninja forum and ask for an invite below the post. You’ll be able to share and discuss your feedback on everything Wrike Lightspeed directly with our Product team ⚡️
- A training session for the wider Community planned for the beginning of August - please stay tuned for more info on this in the coming weeks ✨
Also, we recommend checking out our guides on Wrike Lightspeed features and navigation in our Help Center. You can enable Wrike Lightspeed experience using the toggle today if you haven’t tried it yet 🤩
🗓️ Timeline
Rolling out Wrike Lightspeed to all accounts will kick off in the beginning of August and will span over a few weeks. Our Product team, along with our customer-facing champs, are working hard to make this transition seamless for you. If you have queries, suggestions, or concerns, feel free to get in touch with your Account Manager, your Customer Success Manager, or the Support team here at Wrike. We are all here to help you 🤗
A big-hearted thank you from all of us at Wrike for the constant feedback and support during these exciting times! Your enthusiasm for collaboration and innovation is truly shaping the future of Wrike 🤝

What we miss in this post and gives us concerns is a overview for the roll-out has it been written? We need to get the team up to speed about LightSpeed. As of now we did not inform them because we thought there was more time for the roll-out and we thought the LightSpeed enable function was for the early adopters. And new function /bug fixes coming out every week we tested it ourself and gave feedback But for the team we expect/wait for the more stable version at least every function that is in the old view should be in the new view right? Roll-out beginning Augustus scare the hell out of us as it is still holiday time. We need to plan this!
questions we have:
1 how long can users stay at the classic no "try lightspeed" setting?
2 how long will classic table view and board views work?
3 Will custom table and custom board views migrate automatically to the new views or do we need to make new custom views?
4 Is every function that was in the old views available in the new views or are you still developing? If users switch to "try lightspeed" we want to make sure they can do whatever they could in the old views.
Last week I had three team members I had to roll back Lightspeed on as it was not working properly. How complete is the bug check on this product?
Issues experienced:
- not seeing everything that was tasked to the person
- some new tasks just disappearing in the view. Available for other users, but not the person who created it.
Will users still have the opportunity to use the older view? Or is this going to be the Default?
Further to the comments above, forcing Lightspeed onto businesses with only three weeks' notice with little to no acknowledgement of the ongoing issues is appalling. These changes are material to how we use Wrike, and the above "blog" post that does little to detail the level of change is disappointing. If we are going to lose the old format for tasks, then Wrike becomes borderline useless to our business.
Admittedly some of the functionality is great; however, on the opposing end of the scale, some are incredibly detrimental to our business processes.
I'm trying to determine if we will have to move over to Lightspeed. We rely heavily on custom fields that were very easy to see in the old version and now it takes several key strokes to find those custom fields, making the work flow much slower than it used to be. I'm hoping we don't have to make the change, but can't find any response from Wrike about it.
Hi everyone! Thanks a lot for reaching out and sharing your feedback on Wrike Lightspeed rollout!
I'd like to point out that the release begins in August and will take some weeks, which means that some accounts will get it earlier than others. You account team has already sent the rollout plan, or will send it shortly in case your account's enablement is planned for later. We also wanted to share the Community announcement a month in advance, but your main source of rollout communication is your account team. I'll be happy to pass your concerns to them and they will help you make this transition.
Jacco Stam As soon as Wrike Lightspeed is rolled out to your account, you will have new views and won't be able to access the old ones with one exception - the List view. It's planned to be merged with the new Table view later this year, but it won't happen yet.
Custom Table and custom Board views will migrate automatically and re-create all your settings in the new views.
Full capability parity with the old views (not to mention the new features and capabilities) is going to be reached very soon, before the rollout.
Ginger Nasser I'm sorry to hear about it! Thank you for flagging these issues, I'll ask our Support team to look into this.
Kari Ticoulet As I mentioned above, once Wrike Lightspeed is rolled out to your account, you will have new views and won't be able to access the old ones. One exception to that is the List view - it's planned to be merged with the new Table view later this year, but it won't happen yet.
Jess Moran We've been announcing updates for Wrike Lightspeed and discussed feedback for many months now, but I understand that the change could be frustrating. I will share your feedback with your Account team so let's see how they can help you.
Gwen Griggs Hi, welcome to the Community! All accounts will be moved to Wrike Lightspeed in the coming months, so I'll be happy to ask your Account team to reach out to you to help with the transition!
Thanks again for sharing your feedback, everyone! Please let me know if there is anything else I can help you with.

We have the same issue with assignees not getting notified when they are assigned. We also had a few comments in tasks vanish. It is not a consistent bug and cannot be replicated, so even though I submitted tickets, there really isn't anything that I can do until it happens again. It's a bit of a Catch-22 since the user has to let me know they didn't get a notification, but they won't know BECAUSE they didn't get the notification.
We are working on it and I will run some tests when I get a minute.
Thank you for letting us know Kelly R! I can see that you've discussed this with our team and will now try to record this behaviour so our agents can reproduce this. I hope this won't happen again and I apologise for the inconvenience. In case it does happen again, please let us know.

Is there any communication from the Account Teams to the Users/Admins? One admin I work with has learned about the coming rollout from me, not from an official source. (And I'm just a regular user in their Wrike instance.) Almost all the companies I've worked at/with are not (actively) monitoring the community forums (for Wrike or any similar tool).
Also, will there be thorough bug testing before the Lightspeed rollout? So far (reading in the forum and using Lightspeed daily), there seem to be many small and big issues, that have not been patched yet.
By the way: Thanks for keeping us updated; really appreciate your work here!
Hi Ralph Hirle! First of all, we apologise for this situation; we will investigate internally to see what happened. Thank you for bringing this up!
Our team is working constantly to enhance and improve Wrike Lightspeed, so please be sure to let us know about any issues you've encountered so we can investigate.
Thanks again!

"Lightspeed" has slowed our productivity by 20%. It's yet another poor UI/UX rollout for Wrike. Our team is fed up at this point and moving to another platform. Wrike needs to stop rolling out these buggy updates, they have paid users that rely on this software to work correctly. Furthermore, stop asking users to provide feedback on issues/bugs, if you want user testing then don't charge us subscription fees. Do it internally before launch.
I'm very sorry to hear it Mike Samson. If there's anything at all I can help you with, please let me know.

Same here.
Hi Fábio Brasão, welcome to the Community 👋 Our team is currently working on some enhancements for the Item view to make it more intuitive - we'll keep you posted on when they are available! Thank you for your feedback!

Please, no more "enhancements".
Hey Fábio Brasão, this will actually be an update based on the feedback we've received from the users here in the Community 🙂

We had Lightspeed forced on us 8/22, the Table View "enhancements" have made my job harder and longer. Please bring back the old Table View. I have to click in every field now to edit it, I can't enter or arrow down and edit it. Editing a field used to require a double-click, now a single-click thinks you are editing it. So now when I click on a field to copy/paste it down the table, it thinks I'm editing it and pops up whatever that field's functionality is. And the copy/paste doesn't work, so I guess who cares about using that functionality. Plus everything is slower and time consuming. I have touted Wrike for years now, but I'm seriously throwing my hands up now. This is ridiculous. I have submitted multiple feedbacks and will just start opening tickets on it all, too. I cannot work with this clunky rollout.
Thanks a lot for sharing your feedback Sara Snuggs. I'm sorry to hear you find it challenging to work with the New Table view. I'll now send your feedback to the respective team as well as let your Account team know your thoughts 👍

I am beyond frustrated with the new WRIKE updates. I was aware the UI changes were coming, but it's slow and freezes up. I can no longer simply tab over on a line, I can no longer simply edit a cell, or easily change workflow for status updates. I do not like when the cell opens automatically when I click in the cell, I cannot easily copy multiple cells downward, you have to click into cells a couple of times so it catches the cell to edit. The scrolling up and down is slow and by the time I try clicking into the cell, it's time delayed and I end up editing another cell. I had to recalculate all my task and projects in the % complete column. I also have to expand all on items that I have not collapsed or have a filter on. And that is just the basics I'm noticing. I agree that the slowness and the updated UI is causing slower productivity. I'll keep working through these updates, but I hope it gets better.
Thank you for sharing your feedback in this thread also Dimas Cardoza!
I can see that our Support team expert has reached out to you about this 👍

Overall, lightspeed just seems like a giant step backwards in terms of product efficiency. There's so many examples of tasks that used to be intuitive and easy, and are now slower and more difficult. Custom fields that we use in every single task are now hidden off screen and need a scroll bar (example https://help.wrike.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/16523167829399-Lightspeed-Custom-Field-Layout-Change?page=1#community_comment_17500247934359), the home screen is effectively gone, bookmarks take three clicks to get to, changing assignees or locations takes more clicks than it used to, the display of assignees in a table is baffling and much harder to read, wrike task paths are randomly at the top of tasks and don't update correctly, and tables are often slower to load. I can't believe wrike decided having a programmer spent development time on the infantile confetti display that will be embarrassing to use in front of customers when that programming time could be used to fix any number of obvious bugs and UI problems. After using lightspeed for just a few hours I've already submitted several obvious bugs (if anyone from wrike is reading #1383071 and #1388180 to name a few as examples) which really seems to indicate that wrike didn't do a lot of beta testing internally before releasing this, since these flaws were obvious. We really hope that the forced lightspeed implementation continues to be delayed, and hopefully cancelled, as it is just so much less efficient. Certainly if we are forced to use it, we will be negotiating for a significant price cut next year, since it will be fairly easy to document that the product is less efficient, and we've spent hours debugging for wrike support. Mike's comment above (https://help.wrike.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/15791459104407/comments/16505932855831) is identical to our experience - we're seeing a very good product become less efficient, and we're being used as the user test group during launch.
Are users still having performance issues and delays in updating content? I am still finding it difficult to move through my schedule with relative ease. The performance concerns are additional time to my updates. Are people having concerns with being able to copy cells and rows with ease? Also, I started noticing that when exporting my plan, the predecessor column no longer adds the predecessor row# but instead, it's exporting the description of the predecessor row. Everything I also mentioned in my previous post is still a concern.
Dimas Cardoza I definitely see a difference in speed ... much slower, unfortunately.
Dimas Cardoza I also see these same issues. I just keep opening tickets to document everything I'm finding to be an issue. I also pretty much live in Old Table View for now. You can enable it be going to https://www.wrike.com/labs/ and scrolling to the bottom, then choose Keep using old Table view for now. It's still slower than pre-Lightspeed (ironic, I know) but way better than New Table View and things work the way are supposed to for the most part.
Hello everyone, thank you very much for sharing such detailed feedback with us, please rest assured that we are passing all your comments on to our Product Team.
Our Team is paying special attention to all threads related to the Wrike Lightspeed experience. Just to mention a few examples of how the Product Team is reacting to your feedback, please feel free to check this or this post.
We understand these changes sometimes may not result as ideal as initially planned, but our goal is to improve your experience in Wrike and we will continue working on the necessary adjustments to achieve this.
Once again, thank you for bringing your cases to us, please don't hesitate to come back to this thread to share more updates on your experiences and please let us know if you have any questions.
We have a beta subset of users using Wrike Lightspeed. Since moving the users over to the newer interface and new Table and Board views they have mentioned the performance is substantially worse. We received an email that indicates we'll forcibly have our users pushed to Lightspeed on October 3rd but are very worried that these performance issues will continue. I've submitted a number of tickets, but don't appear to have any progress.
Hi Christian Villegas, thank you for sharing your concerns! We have recently posted an update in relation to the performance, and our team is implementing more fixes every week. Could you please let me know if you've noticed any improvements lately?

Lightspeed Subtask
With Lightspeed, Subtasks are shown at the bottom of the task. To access my subtasks, I now have to scroll all the way down to the end of the main task. Please look into moving subtasks back to the top. I wonder what the logic behind is to move subtasks down!
Search Option in Lightspeed
I use the Wrike app. The option to search for words is gone with Lightspeed. I only see the search bar available for custom fields. It is very difficult to have hundreds of lines in a task and not be able to locate a word via search.
I agree with you Jilcha. The search option only works when you are viewing the actual section, and the word or phrase is present.
