Custom Fields not available in Blueprints

I have seen some similar, but slightly different product feedbacks.

I currently have custom fields that belong to a specific space, only so that they are not accessible by users/departments from other spaces. Because of this separation I am not able to access these custom fields when setting up Blueprints. Only the custom fields that belong to the entire account are visible.

I don't want to switch them to belong to Entire Account because we have 100 custom fields between 2 departments. Is it possible to allow space specific custom fields to be accessible at the blueprint creation level?

Hi Daniel Garcia, I've asked my colleagues from the Support team to reach out to you about this. We've also passed your feedback on to our Product team. Please let me know if there's anything else I can do for you 🙂

Yes!  I had to make a custom item visible across the space for this exact reason (to add to a blueprint.)

100% agree here! Here's our use case:

We have two folders inside of our Blueprints:

  1. IT
  2. Marketing

After waiting two years for the ability to add custom fields to Blueprints so we can set them up in advance and easily edit them if they change, I just discovered the very tiny and hidden option to do this. So I immediately got excited and tried to add a custom field owned by the Marketing team's Space, but it didn't show up in the list of custom fields for me to add to their blueprints. This is an issue because to add Marketing's custom fields to their blueprints (at least nine fields I know of), I have to make them account-wide, which means these fields will start showing up on IT's Wrike tasks and I don't want to mess up their visual way of working.

Could the answer to this problem simply be to give us the ability to create, edit and manage Blueprints WITHIN a Space? Adding a tab to the Space Settings page makes the most sense to me.....Example mockup below. :)

Lisa Would you happen to have any idea why some custom fields (belonging to Entire Account) would not be accessible to add to a project blueprint under the Account Level blueprints area?  I am also not able to see to add them to a folder within account blueprints, so they display on the project blueprints within it.  I have all of these CFs assigned to the appropriate folders inside our Spaces, therefore when we create from one of the account level Project Blueprints, all needed CF display on the new project in the Space/folder.  However, it would be extremely helpful to show our required fields on the account blueprints, so they are also visible there for our users.  In case you need to be able to visualize the CF settings, I am including the following screenshot.  The CFs highlighted are the ones I can not see under the account blueprint area.  Also, just FYI, I have full Admin access to our account (other than Account owner settings).

Also, I tried creating from an account level project blueprint, placing it in a Space/folder that has access to all of the CFs and then saved back to account blueprints, however it didn't resolve the issue.

Is this a known problem/limitation or am I doing something wrong? I do not recall this as an issue before LightSpeed went live for us. Thanks!

Lisa Just in case someone else experiences the same problem that I reported above on Oct 23, 2023, this was due to us disabling "add/remove custom fields" option for the "Full" role (under Account Management -> Access Roles).  We removed this to reduce the number of users who can add/remove custom fields, however clearly the Wrike code needs access in order for even an Admin to be able to see the CFs to add/remove them from the account level Blueprints.  Once we temporarily re-enabled, the Admin was able to see the CFs and add/adjust them on the Blueprints.
