Multi-Select Inbox

When the inbox receives a large number of items (alerts due to automation rules, for example) there is no way to archive multiple inbox alerts at one time. I have to go through over 100 items and manually archive each and every one.

I don't want to "archive all" because some of the items in the inbox are legitimate items I need to work on this week, but I need to get rid of all of the automation bot alerts, which in this case was over 100.

There is no way to shift click or control click to select a group of items to archive or otherwise mark. Please make it possible to archive more than 1 item at a time without having to do all of them. This "single or all" approach is not user friendly.

Thank you.

Hey Jason Pontius! So this would be something like mass editing, but for Inbox? Great idea! Thank you for submitting, I'm now passing it on to the team 👍

Lisa Yes, pretty much. It wasn't an issue until I got hit with 100+ alerts!  I had an automation rule to automatically assign me to a task in my own Personal space, and so when I copied a project into my Personal space, it assigned me to every task and made sure I got notified for each one!   Took quite a while to manually clear them one by one because I didn't want to clear all of my inbox; just the ones for this project. I needed to maintain a handful of others.

Thank you for passing this along. I hope this is implemented easily and quickly.

Thanks for sharing more detail on why this option would be useful for you Jason Pontius 🙂 I've also been thinking and I'd like to know what you think - so when you mass edit, you still have to mark the notifications you'd like to archive in order for them to be mass archived. It means that as you now have to archive them one by one, you'd have to do the same number of clicks if mass archiving was possible. Or maybe that's not how you envisioned this?

Lisa  Thank you for following up. I believe that this is not true. You don't have to select 1 by 1 when you mass edit. Can't you click on 1 and then shift click lower down on the list and have it select the entire range of items? I think I tested this and it seemed to work. But, this would be an absolute requirement to be able to shift click and control click to multi select as is the standard practice in most software.

Thank you.

Lisa it doesn't appear inbox multi-select has been implemented. I hope it will be soon. I have 80+ notifications of routine task deletions that I'll have to click and archive one-by-one, which is a frustrating waste of time.
