Convert Milestone to Task - mass edit

Does anyone know an easy way to convert 500+ milestones to regular task?  We can do a mass edit to milestone but can't go back... any work arounds or just a manual edit?

It is possible to mass edit milestones with Advanced rescheduling options - you can clear the dates for them or setting the start and due dates:

How do I do the opposite... mass edit to convert tasks to milestones?

Hi Teresa Skaar, welcome to the Community! Thank you for sharing your question with us. A milestone is basically a task with only a due date set - and no start date. For this reason, if you remove the start dates from your tasks, you will convert them into milestones.

You can easily achieve this by either clearing the start dates of one of your tasks in the New Table View and then drag-and-drop this (empty) value.
 
  
 
Once you clear the start dates, the tasks will be converted into milestones.

We have had the same problem since the milestones in the calendar were shown as diamonds. We don't like that at all and so I now have to convert more than 1000 milestones into regular tasks. Deleting the date first and then redefining it doesn't work in mass edit because the milestones don't have the same date. I just miss the function of converting many milestones into regular tasks at once, as it already exists in the other direction. Converting several regular tasks into milestones works perfectly.
