I'm working on adding some attachments programmatically, and I'd like to link to the attachment I'm adding in the task description. I know attachment permalinks are a relatively new feature in the browser UI; is there a way to get the attachment permalink URL via the API too?

Hi Michael Cornelius! Glad to hear that you are using the file permalink service. I'm afraid that permanent links to files are not supported via API due to security reasons, since the attachment links from API are subscribed to be opened without an additional login.
However, as you may already know, it's possible to get a file URL valid for 24 hours from when you make the API request. I understand that it doesn't quite fit your use-case but it still might be helpful. For more details please check https://developers.wrike.com/api/v4/attachments/.
Alternatively, as a workaround, you could first attach a file to the cloud storage and then add the link to the file in the cloud storage by updating the task description.🙂
