Reference files
Would it be possible to table the idea of having separate 'file' areas in Tasks for 'reference' files and for actual files for approval? It's sometimes unclear which is which by having a single list whether a file is there for reference or should be included in approvals and being able to upload to one or the other stables for images would help immensely.

Agreed this would be helpful. My team uses projects though and we try to keep all the "reference files" in the main project area and upload all the files for approvals within the subtasks. It helps clean it up a bit.
