Not sure if this would be remotely in scope of this particular integration, but this is a dream scenario my team has discussed:
Background:
We support PowerPoint presentations & Word docs regularly & it's an absolute version control nightmare. When we receive a file as an attachment, that means that the requester's file is effectively "dead" since we would be sending back a new file with our updates included. This makes rolling collaboration with non-Wrike users difficult, particularly if they continue to make updates to their file after they've handed it off (this is mostly a process adoption issue, but would like to minimize the impact of rule breakers).
Band-aid:
We encourage requesters to send us SharePoint links with edit permissions enabled instead of file attachment. While this means we don't have the version control issue, we do lose the ability to leverage the Wrike proofing tool. We also end up with a disconnect between people using commenting features in PPT/Word vs any internal discussion in the Wrike task comments.
Dream Solution:
It would be AMAZING if a SharePoint integration for Wrike would work similarly to the SharePoint sync function. Rather than simply accessing SP to upload a file to Wrike, the SP link would retain a live connection to the original SP file. This would allow us to maintain a single version history for the entire life of the asset as well as enable ongoing team collaboration, as well as still be able to use the proofing functionality to get feedback. And the dream-dream solution would also somehow integrate Wrike proof comments with the native commenting in PPT/Word.
I'd love to try this feature out. Thanks!
Hi, the sharepoint entry is now available for us in attachments, Thank you!
After allowing Wrike to connect to sharepoint I get the following view. Each folder is completely
empty and I can't find any similar structure in Sharepoint Online. Some information on how it should work would be great!
Best Peter
Peter Veldtrup I'm experiencing the same thing! Now that I have the SharePoint option, I'm also brought to a similar screen with some seemingly random file folders, all of which are empty.
TheDesignerd Thanks a lot for sharing your use-case and feedback here, our Product team are keeping a close eye!
Daryl Scott Welcome to the forums! This beta is now closed for new admissions; thanks a lot for your interest and sorry for the inconvenience! We'll keep you informed on other beta openings here on the Community.
Peter Veldtrup Lisa Lemmons Could that be because for now, the integration only works with your own SharePoint sites and not with the shared sites? What I mean is, you should only be seeing your own sites at the moment.

What do you mean by my "own SharePoint sites"? As far as I understand, ALL SharePoint drives are shared while OneDrive is your personal cloud-based file storage. How would I know which SharePoint sites are "mine" vs ones that are shared? I don't recognize any of the folder names that are appearing when I go to attach from SharePoint:
Lisa Lemmons: I'm also not aware of "owning" sites. I only "own" the files on my personal onedrive. Even the sites I created on Sharpoint Online are not listed here nor are the sites I'm Owner of. I'm pretty sure that the foldernames shown do not exists on any of our Sharepoint Sites. I also don't understand what the term "Drives" means.
Please add me to the beta
I would like access to this Beta - thank you.
Lisa Lemmons Peter Veldtrup Sorry for the late reply here, I was checking this out with the team. In SharePoint, there are "sites" where you can store different info like files, links etc. In the "Documents" tab there, different files are stored. If it is a team site that was shared with you by someone else, it is currently not possible to attach files from there to Wrike. If it is a site that you've created yourself (maybe you don't have that permission in your company's SharePoint account), you can attach files from there to your Wrike account. Our Product team is planning to work on this and improve the functionality by adding the ability to attach files from shared sites too. Hope that's clearer now, but please let me know if you have further questions!
Brad Forsyth James Fox The beta is now completed and we can't take in more beta testers, that's why this post has a "Completed" green badge above. I'm sorry for the inconvenience! We'll be sure to let you know about the new beta openings here on the Community. Thanks a lot for your interest!

Thanks Lisa but that explanation does not help. I have created 20+ SharePoint sites at my organization and none of them are appearing when I go to attach something from SharePoint. I was hoping I'd be able to select a SharePoint site from a list of available sites but I'm just seeing the seemingly random folders I had shared in my screenshot previously.

Hi there, please add me to the beta. This sounds great!
mdr
Yes - I'd like to join the beta test group. Thx

Please include me!

I would like to participate in addition. Thank you - Andy

Lisa Lemmons Hi again! We have investigated with the developers, and it looks like there's a mistake in the reply that I gave you previously. I am very sorry about this! It turns out that the integration actually works with the root (=main) site in SharePoint that can be used with this beta integration. All the other sites that you create won't work with the integration for now. So the folders from the screenshots you've provided should exist in the root folder of your organization's SharePoint account.
Natasha Tyers Kasual Gadsden Pete Stycos Andy Galea I'm sorry but we don't enroll more people to the beta anymore, that's why the status of this post is "Completed" now. We'll let you know when there are more beta openings 🙂

Thanks Lisa, that helps me understand this behavior. Unfortunately, our organization doesn't use SharePoint in that manner so I'm not sure if this will be helpful to us until use is expanded to all SharePoint sites. I don't use or have access to that 'main' SharePoint site within our organization. Instead, we create sites for particular projects or teams. I'll just wait to test until functionality expands to other sites. Thank you!

I'm glad we were finally able to understand the issue, thank you for all your feedback on this beta functionality Lisa Lemmons. I'm sorry for the confusion!

Hi,
I agree with Lisa Lemmons last comment, for bigger companies the limitations of the beta program to not include sub-sites makes it basically useless.
We also have not set up any sites on the root level of the organization, since we are a global enterprise with various regions, countries, branches, use cases, applications, etc. Without the addition of sub-sites and being able to chose a site that is shared with you, this cannot be implemented.
Limitations that block us from any further use:
Ideal situation for enterprise use:

Would love to be added if there are additional spots that open up.

Hi,
I gave myself access to the root of our Sharepoint Structure and can now confirm that the files stored here show up in Wrike.
But as some others already stated, this is not the way Sharepoint is used in an enterprise context as all data would be stored in one site then.
So I'm also looking forward to see the beta beeing improved.

Christina Fischer Peter Veldtrup Thanks a lot for your detailed feedback here, I'm passing it on to the team now and I'll keep you updated on the progress of this integration.
