Subtract working days only in a formula
I need to create a custom task due date which is Due Date minus variable working days ?
Custom Due Date = Due Date - Custom number of days (working days only)
How can I do this? Currently when I do this, it does not take weekends into account. For example, a Monday date - 2 gives me previous Saturday date and not the previous Wednesday.
Thanks for your help.
Hi Jay Ahluwalia, welcome to the Community!
This is a very interesting question - could you share some more details around how you are doing this currently? I'll see whether I'll be able to help, it might be a good idea to ask our Advanced support for advice. I can raise a ticket for you from here 😊

Hi Hugh, this would be great. We are trying to implement our shipping project plan in Wrike. So if a customer asks for an item on Wed and it take us 5 days, we have added a custom date column (Wed Date - 5) hoping that it tells us to start the job on the previous Wed (5 working days) and not Sat (5 days). Then we have a calendar showing timeline between start date and due date. This would be very helpful to us. I am sure it would be very helpful to your other users also. Thanks
Hi Jay! I understand what you mean now.
When are you setting up your tasks and choosing dates, be sure to select the "working days only" option in the date view. Then, for a custom field, create a field titled "Custom Date" and set it up as a Formula custom field. If your formula is [Due Date]-[Duration], it will give you a date in your work schedule that will give you a starting date for the task!
Hope this helped! If you have any other questions let me know 😊
