Sharing Gantt timelines with outside customers

Hello - I need to be able to share snapshots of a timeline with users who do not have Wrike and do not have the ability to view a Gantt chart timeline. You used to be able to do this in Wrike with the old timeline. I could take a snapshot and share the link with absolutely anyone. It appeared in a new window, outside of Wrike and users could click on the bars and see the dates.

Now when I take a snapshot  and share the link with my business partners it says it cannot be reached. This means I have to export to Excel and do a whole bunch of re-formatting which is very time consuming. I'm not sure why this feature was taken away, but I would like to know if there is a away to do this that I'm not aware of and if not, I would like it to be added back in as a feature. This should be easy for my business partners, not something they have to enable on their end.

I have seen other posts that say anyone should be able to view a timeline as long as they have the ability to view a Gantt chart snapshot. I don't know what that means and how I would tell them to enable this.

I would really appreciate some support here. Thank you!

Hi @Amy,

I was able to test this just now, and it worked for me - I went to the Snapshots section (next to Expand / Collapse All) and created a snapshot from the current state, then copied the sharing link and sent to a coworker who has no access to our Wrike account.

She took a screenshot of how the link opened for her, and it looks good.

I agree that the snapshots tool seems more hidden / convoluted now, but there might be something else going on if your partners can't access the link.

Let me know if your process was different. Thanks!

Thanks Carolanne for the reply! It doesn't actually have to do with the staff member not having access to Wrike, it has to do with them not being able to view a Gantt chart screenshot. I did the same thing you did, but my fellow colleague could not access it. I'm trying to understand how someone can gain the ability to view a Gantt chart screenshot, but I haven't been able to find the answer just yet.

I really appreciate you looking into it and sharing your experience :)

@Amy , what do they see when they click on the snapshot? Something like a broken link, or a message that the Gantt chart hasn't been shared?

Above is the error message that my colleague is receiving. It does seem like a broken link maybe. We have very high security firewalls in our organization so perhaps that's the issue, but it used to work in the Old Timeline view. She is also using Google Chrome, I'm not sure if that makes a difference?

Actually, I wonder if that is a security issue. Is it possible you've had firewall updates since using the old timeline? Is there anything she can whitelist on her end? Can you share report snapshots (or briefly share project / task links) with them to see if the same thing happens?

It might be worth testing links in Firefox and IE too.
