[Status: Backburner ⏳] Recurring tasks - Blueprints
Hello,
It would be usefull to be able to create a reccurent task directly in a blueprint, with the same options as in the "normal" projects/tasks.
Thanks a lot,
PH L.

That would be incredibly helpful!!
This would be more than helpful. This would streamline workflow and remove a lot of manual inputting of reoccurring tasks. The purpose of calling on a blueprint is so that you do not have to recreate things again and again. We are using blueprints as "processes"/templates some of the tasks inside those blueprints should occur on a monthly basis.
I agree with the above users. This would be a huge time saver for how our company is using Wrike.
Hello everyone! Great feedback, thanks a lot for that! I don't have any updates from the team, but I'll let you know when I have something 🙂

Lisa thank you for the response. I would most certainly appreciate any updates that you can provide as my team is going to be severely hindered in developing the automation we hoped would come with our subscription to Wrike. Our company might be a great test case for how the platform can benefit true agencies. We handle over 400 accounts and need the platform to work with us.
Adding an upvote! I would like if there was a task for the recurring item like - Monthly Meetings; and then subtasks for recurrence. The Monthly Meetings task would have a dependency defined in the Blueprint and then the subtasks would either A. recur X times at Y frequency depending on the task's start OR B. recur at Y frequency depending on the start and end date of it's parent task.
I agree this would be WILDLY helpful! Going into each project to make the task recurrent is very manual, and an easy step to forget.
Without the ability to make this recurring upfront in the blueprint, this currently creates a ton of manual work and room for error. Upvote!
Hey everyone, thank you for all of your feedback here! I don't have an update for you at the moment, but as soon as I do, I'll let you know 😊
I agree, this would be a great addition and reduce user confusion on what/where the original recurrrent task was in the event of edits needed. This is particularly relevant because we use tasks with sub-tasks to be able to handle multi-step processes that are recurring on a weekly basis...a blueprint would be more consistent experience for the setup of these tasks.
agreed, we need this, too. Any updates on this?
The user votes are online for more than 18 months now. Is this feature coming any time soon?
Hi everyone, thank you for sharing your feedback here.
A quick update - the Product team is interested in this suggestion, but there are currently no plans to add this idea to the short-term roadmap. If there are any changes here, I'll be sure to let you know.
Agreed with this, now that Blueprints are a main feature in Wrike we really need them to be able to create recurring tasks!
Here's my use case:
We have a checklist that all support agents need to complete every day. Each agent has their own task for this checklist, and it's recurrent. Currently, any time that I need to update the checklist I have to do this:
If I could make a blueprint "recurring", and each time it recurs it pulls from the latest version of the blueprint, it would save me several hours of work every month. If anyone has any ideas for workarounds in the meantime I'd love to hear them.
Thanks a lot for sharing a detailed use-case here, Jessie Ostrander, I'm passing it on to the team now 👍

If i want to add anything new (project, folder task) there should be an instant option to select the project/folder/task from previously saved blueprints list.
Especially with tasks because you want to generate tasks very quickly!
The speed and simplicity of managing projects is crutial for people to start using the software.
Thank you for weighing in, Tõnu Leinbock!

adding my upvote too - if there is a way we can just make updates to the blueprints (oh, and even add subtasks to the blueprints too!)
Thanks for the feedback and supporting this suggestion Robert Pughsley! Please be sure to upvote the original post by clicking on the heart icon if you haven't yet 🙋🏻♀️
Has there been any movement on this request? I'm a new wrike user and this feature would be extremely helpful to us.
tap tap tap.. "is this thing on?"
Hello Dan Melton, apologies for the delayed response here. I've asked for an update from the Product team and will let you know as soon as possible 👍🏼
Hi everyone, thank you for the continued support for this request. I checked with our Product team, and this suggestion is not on the short-term roadmap currently but they've plans to review it in the future. Therefore, we've assigned the "Backburner" status for the time being.
Please continue to vote and provide use-cases by commenting and we'll be sure to update you here if we have more information to share 👍
Whenever we have a new product launch, there are certain tasks within the project such as the product forecast that should be recurring. Yes, we can just create the task in the blueprint and when a new project is created, have the project owner update the task options to make it recurrent. My fear is that people will forget to make the tasks recurrent and things will be missed. Our work around is to have multiples af the same task in the project but with different dates. This isn't great because we have multiple tasks just sitting in a persons workload dashboard for months at a time.
Thanks a lot for sharing detailed feedback and your current workaround, Ashley Fischer!

Updoot!!
This has quite a few upvotes, do we know when this will be considered? This would be a very helpful features for us to have, we have quite a few recurring tasks that we will be doing every month.
