Add a folder color called "hidden"
I would like the option to include an item in a folder without adding a visual label to the folder board or dashboard views. I use folders as tags, and have some folders just for metrics or organizing, but are not interesting for a dashboard view. This would be very similar to options Gmail offers for labels, which allows hiding a label from the inbox view.
Hey Darren! I think that status would be useful (especially if it was part of a different workflow category). The way we worked around hiding certain tasks from different views was by creating a custom field called something like "exclude" and then checking that box whenever we don't want that particular task in view (by adjusting the filters for the dashboard, report, or other view).
Hi Cole,
That sounds like a solution to a different problem. I just want to hide the label. I'm suggesting the color selection, but I want to influence the view of the label in the view, not the tasks themselves.
Ahh gotcha-- so basically the task/project would be tagged, but you wouldn't see the "hidden" label when you are looking at the task?
Exactly! Destination folder is the only item I can universally control from the various integrations, so I use it extensively. These folders aren't always interesting in a dashboard, and I like as minimal of a dashboard as possible. I don't need the label hidden from a task detail pane, just from folders and dashboard views.
