Wrong email address was used in setting up a google calendar event for a task

Why can't I change the email address associated with a calendar job I entered for google calendar.  It used my personal (my accident) but i believe I clicked it cause it was the only option.  Now I can't change it to my work email and all my new attempts at assigning a job to google calendar are defaulting to my personal email address.
