Overdue Task list different between widgets

Hi i have added two widgets to my dashboard 1) Tasks assigned to me 2) My overdue Tasks.

I have noticed that there is often more tasks in the "My Overdue Tasks" Widget than there is in the OVERDUE section of the "Tasks Assigned to Me" widget.

The tasks not showing are not different to many of the ones that are showing. A s simple task just assigned to me with a due date.

I would really like to use just the "Tasks Assigned to ME" widget but cannot due to this possible bug.

Hi Glenn,

Providing it's not a security rick, is there any chance you could provide some screenshots of your dashboard settings (just in case you've missed something when setting it up).

Thanks and hope this gets resolved for you soon,

-George

Hi George

Thanks for getting back to me. I have attached two pictures below one is the dashboard with the highlighted differences the other with the view setting for each widget.

If you need other setting then please advise what you need and how to obtain them.

Thanks,

Glenn

If you created the Widgets the options for the should be editable, there's two  things that could be the issue;

  • they might be filtering out one of the folders that these two tasks are in (the second task that you marked and censored the folder or) and also have a date restriction, so it's only looking at tasks long that a couple of days overdue.
  • alternatively it will be looking for a specific workflow (possibly the accounts standard workflow) and these two tasks aren't using that workflow and are therefore filtered out, even though they say "new" that could be a status in several different workflows.

Without looking at the two widgets settings and comparing them, that's all I can think of.

I hope that helps,

-George

Hi George,

Thanks for the reply.

To your first point below who are "they" is that Wrike? the widgets i am using are directly from the premade widget options i don't set any filters.

I don't think they are censoring folders as the first task missing is in the same folder as a task that is showing.I also don't think there is a date issue as the second task that is missing has a due dates that is within the range of the task that are showing.

To your second point i only use one workflow for everything.

Either way if the pre-configured widgets are filtering by per dates, folders, or workflows (we i don't think they are)  we should be easily see this. your list of possible explanation has nuances that an everyday user should have to deal with. If i select the pre-configured widget for Tasks assigned to me i expect to see all my overdue tasks.

Is this being considered a "bug" and being added to your non conformance system or does this die here in this forum?

To my first point

  • No, sorry, by "they" I meant the left hand side widget in your picture. Very bad wording on my behalf.
  • Yes, that's why I thought my second point was more likely, as the only way my first point would work is if you had the date filter and the folder filter active (which seemed unlikely).

To my second point

  • Fair enough, I  was just trying to rule some things out.

A third point then

  • What are the sub tasks under "PPE Order/Issue Policy"?

Finally Glenn, just so you know, I don't work for Wrike (if I did I would have a blue badge next to my name saying "Wrike Community"), just a guy trying to give you a hand; so I can't answer you last question.

I'm sorry I couldn't help more and have a wonderful evening (if you happen to be in Europe) or a Wonderful afternoon (if you happen to be over the big pond).

George,

Firstly I'm sorry if it came across as a bit rude and i did think you worked for Wrike.

I appreciate all the help you gave on this. Hopefully an Wrike community member review and feeds this back as i think there is an issue somewhere either software bug or usability issue.

Thanks again

Glenn

We are having the same problem - i think it's any subtask doesn't show up in the "Tasks assigned to me" as overdue, but in the overdue widget it shows up.

Which if is the case, and it looks like it, this is ridiculous - because of course subtasks need to show up as overdue.

I was here looking for a way to make a widget that shows "my not overdue tasks" and I can't seem to find this either :(

@Lisa I raised a ticket. There is no solution. It is a bug in Wrike. People have been asking for a fix since June 2017.

Very disappointed in Wrike's lack of responsiveness.

Lisa did a solution ever result in this conversation? It is now 2021, and I just had a user raise the same issue/concern that depending on how she looks at her overdue items, the numbers are different.

In both cases she is in the My To Do screen of wrike new user experience, and using preset filters built into Wrike,.

Hi. I am still having this issue. It is May 2022 so I am concerned that this bug has not been resolved. We use an agile project management style, which means it is critical to show our team members all tasks assigned to them including of course ones that are overdue. I have just discovered that two of my overdue tasks are not showing on 'my tasks' dashboard, which means they have remained neglected. I can only assume this is the case for other team members as well, which as the Executive Manager is a significant concern to me.
