Issue with deferred workflows

Having issues with the workflows.

I'll try and break it down and explain. So, when you usually using predcessors/dependencies on Wrike, when you shuffle the main task the rest of the dependencies will automatically shuffle into correct dates.

However, we have made a workflow "Waiting on Other Actions" so that the task becomes deferred/hidden. Now when we have done this, the task will not automatically align anymore.

I will attach pictures to explain it better.

Is this a bug or any tips?

Just because we want to hide 'noise' from our technical projects by using deferred workflows does that mean it will mess up all our timelines as it wont move automatically anymore????

AS YOU CAN SEE TASK B HAS NOT MOVED AUTOMATICALLY, WHEN TASK A DEADLINE WAS MOVED.  ^^^

Hi Yasemin, great question and this had me puzzled for a little while. Making a dependency shift or even adding a dependency requires the task to be in an Active Status. As Task B was given a dependency before it was deferred it still shows the dependency line (red-lined to highlight the conflict). Try changing the task to Active, to shift with its dependent tasks to test.

This feature is not a bug because it's useful to see deferred tasks highlighted, which could lead to further Project confusion/delays if it goes unnoticed.

Imagine a large Project with many people completing many tasks. One person decides to defer his or her task. Later that day, the Project Manager decides to make a scheduled shift to some tasks and realized that there's a deferred task which is causing a dependency conflict as highlighted in the Gantt.

Any question, I'm happy to discuss 🙂
