Hey Steph Boyle, I hope I understood your ask correctly as you just have a title entered! The way I understand it, you want to move existing work to a new space. I hope the below helps and if not, please let me know what you meant!

The easiest way to do this is to use mass editing to change the location.

You can move anything from tasks, projects, folders, or CITs this way to any new space.

  1. Navigate to where your tasks are
  2. Swap to Table View
  3. Hover over the numbers on the left of the table until you see the checkboxes
  4. Select the checkboxes for each item you'd like to move (or click the checkbox near Name at the top of the table and it will select everything)
  5. Click Location on the top menu bar
  6. Choose either Move to or Add to and search for the new location (you can select more than one - it can be a space, a folder in a space, a project, etc.) - click Enter when you're done setting the new locations
  • Move to will remove it from it's current location to the new location(s) you set
  • Add to will simply crosstag it to the new location(s) you set (will stay in it's original location, too)

I hope this helps :)

Yeah sorry I didn't see an option to add more info then it was submitted so well done, you figured out what I meant haha.
Thanks this worked for some of the tasks in my list but others the location doesn't appear. Is this because its a task I'm assigned to but under a project that I'm not assigned to? Basically I want to separate my design work out and rename them so its not confusing as they may end up being a few tasks with the same name but they are for different clients and I find it hard to navigate. I am also considering getting the team to use forms for the work they need me to do but I understand they may want them linked to certain projects they are in control of - is this possible?

Hi Steph Boyle

Ah! I'm glad I could decipher it!

I guess it depends what you are seeing and want to move - it's a little hard for me to tell without actually being in your account (obviously, I wouldn't be authorized to do so, but maybe your CSM could help!?). My guess is perhaps it's due to either your permissions rights or the overall parent is in a different location that you do not have access to (if the location is blank).

One thing you can do for future use:

Create blueprints (if this work isn't already in that format) and under "Create to..." you can preset existing locations - so find all the blueprint tasks that you would want going to your other specific space and add them there! That will cross-tag only those tasks you tag to the specific space, but if you do need the whole project or parent to move over, you can set the "Create to..." location there (in case you need context). When tying these blueprints to request forms say to trigger them in the future, note that all the information that is submitted through the form (that goes to custom field, descriptions, key date fields, etc.) will only be visible at the overall parent level and this info doesn't cascade down to each subitem within it.
