Multiple UI and UX problems with the new dashboards
I've returned from a week off to find all my dashboards have automatically switched to the new version. RIP classic dashboards and all the simplicity and ease of use they provided.
After only a few hours of using the new dashboards, here are some of the problems I'm finding:
Drag and drop
Having to hover over the 'draggable' area to move tasks from one widget to the next is an awful change. It was so easy to drag and drop tasks before, you could click anywhere on the task. This is a major flaw in the UX for me.
Refresh after drag and drop
When you move tasks from one widget to the next, both widgets seem to flash to update. This creates a horrible experience, especially when moving things around as much as I do. Never used to do this, moving tasks was smooth and instantaneous.
Order of tasks changes
If I manually re-order my tasks in a certain widget, after dragging another task it flashes and then re-orders back to some default state EVERY time I move something. It's a terrible feature.
Screen Real Estate
The new UI is terrible. I've had to zoom out quite far so that my multiple widgets appear nicely on screen. My text is now tiny. There was no other way for my enclosing folder to show otherwise, it seems all the screen real estate is being used by the draggable section, the drop down arrows etc. I never had this problem in classic widgets.
Lagging after clicks
When you click a task to open up the window, nothing opens straight away. There are lags and delays for all the information to appear. Adds wasted time, every time.
Please please Wrike, can you bring back Classic?? Or help out with some of these problems?
Bring back draggable tasks by clicking anywhere on the task at least..... 🙏
Totally agree. I would pay to have the Classic dashboard back!
Thank you so much, Paul Dodd, for the detailed feedback on the new Dashboard. I have shared it with our product team, and it will be kept in mind for any future changes. 😊👍🏽
