Change to font size and line spacing in task descriptions
I am the Wrike manager and administer for our company and also a very heavy user of Wrike. My main workload in Wrike is centered around taking important meeting notes (sometimes up to 15 in a week) with attendees from multiple countries and providing the takeaway action items through Wrike subtasks. I use the description field in a task to capture the "minutes" and then create subtasks within that meeting notes task to create the action items that resulted from the meetings. This system works great for our team and we have been doing it this way for years.
This morning when I went to take notes at our regular Monday manager's meeting, I noticed there was a change in the font size and line spacing of the description section. I thought maybe I hit something funky or it was just acting goofy, but after I wrote into Support, I learned that this was an intentional change pushed out this morning. It not only affects all tasks moving forward but also all of our thousands of tasks since creation of our account.
For us, it's not a good change. It makes the descriptions of the tasks much longer than they have to be, especially for those who print the meeting notes (which are already lengthy enough as they are filled with content). I also cut and paste these notes into emails to our leadership and "C" teams. With this change, I will either be sending out much longer emails to our leadership (which they won't care for) or spending time reformatting to cut down the font and line space size.
Aside from providing a specific formatting preferences, there doesn't appear to be any substantial improvement value with this change that will positively impact the majority of end users (... if it ain't broke, why fix it?). My suggestion to the development team would be to seek out heavy users of a particular section they are about to change and get more input before "pushing the button" because for our company, this change is not helpful or an improvement in any way.
As users I'm sure we can all agree that for our individual needs, some changes with Wrike are helpful and some you learn to live with. In this particular case, however, this change to line spacing and font size is so undesired by our company that I hope Wrike come up with a way to allow the user to choose the line spacing and font size and not impose a new formatting structure that forces thousands of past tasks to conform as well as all tasks moving forward. In this user's opinion, it doesn't provide enough of an "improvement" for the majority of users to justify this system-wide, task-wide change. There are so many other "improvement" ideas out there that would benefit the majority of end users.
Hi Mary! Thank you so much for taking the time to provide such detailed feedback and information about your use case. Sorry for the delay in getting back to you, I wanted to reach out to our Product Managers so I could share the reasoning behind this update with you. The interface and formatting were updated to fit industry standards and make it easier to see what you are working on, all while saving time spent on custom formatting. These changes now reflect the styles of other tools, and make it easier to switch between platforms and documents, increasing the ease and speed at which you can skim and read the information contained within the descriptions. I completely understand how this might not work for your use case, and I've let our Product team know about all of the thoughts you shared on this. Your message was very helpful and insightful, and I'd like to thank you once more for taking the time to write here!
I support the comment from Mary Jennison. I dislike the new size of the font, its so bigger :(

@Andrea, I've added a +1 from you to this feedback, and we'll continue adding votes for anyone else who replies to this thread. Thank you for sharing!
Thank you Wrike!!! So glad the change was made back to (or near) the original formatting version of the description field. It really makes a HUGE difference in the way my notes are archived.
Did really change? I see the same size of font...

I think you're right that the font size is the same. The bigger issue for me was the spacing -- and thankfully that's fixed! I still think it would be great to have those "features" be user controlled. Even it we set the font size as administrators for the account and their wasn't individual preferences for each user, I'd be good with that. Hopefully, Wrike will progress to that option.
Just a suggestion, it would be good if users could choose their own preferred view.
If you look at google - gmail for example, there is a view option for: Comfortable / Cozy and Compact that changes the line spacing.
This would be great for Wrike's list view.
Note: Moved to Product Feedback section so members can vote for the suggestion.
I agree with Richard. I am finding our older users (and folks who work in the dark) need larger fonts and a little more space between lines, while the younger folks with better eyesight, don't really need that and like more "at -a-glance" content. Having options helps us accommodate everyone in the firm.
