How do I bulk REMOVE tasks using the new Table view?

Hey community! Hoping someone has a simple answer for me. Every month I bulk remove all of the Agile Marketing team's "done" tasks from their kanban board (project). With the new Table view, when I select all of the Done tasks to remove, a "Location" option shows up at the top to Add or Move to a new location, but I've lost the option to "Remove  from" a location! How do I quickly do this? The filter option disappears when you select multiple tasks. Help!

Hello Daisy Hibbard, thank you for sharing this question with us! It is true that in the New Table View the option "Remove from location" is currently not available. May I kindly ask you to elaborate a bit on your use case? When you remove your tasks from their current location, do you leave them stored only in the "Shared with me" section? Or after removing them from their location you move them to a different one?

You should be able to bulk move your tasks by using the option you have mentioned ("Move to"), which would save you the time and effort of first removing the tasks from their current location.

You can also go one step further and create an automation rule to automatically move the tasks once you set their status to "Complete":

Looking forward to your reply!

Hi @..., thanks for the help! Here's a bit more about our use case:

  • Our Agile Marketing Team uses Kanban so we use ONE Board in Wrike.
  • At the end of the month, I review all of the "Done" tasks, make sure all of our custom fields have data points (in case we need to run reports on the type of work completed, the industry it supported, customer type who benefitted from it, etc) - this is why I don't have an automation set up
  • Once I verify this information, I filter a custom Table view by "Completed date", select all the tasks completed in the month that just ended, and then REMOVE them from the board (to be fair, I've been doing this using the List view up until Lightspeed was launched to our account last week). I remove them because there are always other folders or projects assigned to the team's tasks. For instance, everything completed in July got tagged to a folder of July priorities. We create these because we have repeatable tasks, upcoming events, holiday work, etc that we want to visualize for planning purposes.
  • For now, I see the List view functionality is still working so I'm going to use that to remove the Kanban board label from the team's July tasks. I don't want to use the "Move To" option because last time I did that it moved everything to the new location AND removed all of the other location tags.

Does this answer all of your questions? Before List view is deprecated, can we PLEASE get the "Remove from" option added to the Table view functionality?

Thank you very much for all the additional details, Daisy Hibbard, I perfectly understand your case now and I have passed your feedback on to our Product Team.

A possible alternative would be to enable the "Location" column, edit one row to remove the unnecessary tag, and then drag the cell to copy its values to the other relevant items:

I understand this is not exactly what you are looking for, but it could help you continue working in the New Table View.

Thank you!

Thanks for the continued help, @...! Question regarding your drag and drop solution to remove the location tag - don't all the locations on every task have to match in order for this option to work? As in, we have lots of tasks on the board that are part of different projects (Locations) (ex: marketing campaigns, promotions, new products, etc), so if I remove our "Kanban" location tag from a new product task that's at the top of the list and then drag the Location field down for all the tasks I want to remove from the board, won't it make every single task below the first one match all of the Location tags assigned to the first task...?

You are right Daisy Hibbard, by using the drag-and-drop option the items will have the exact same locations/tags. For this reason, I understand the option "Remove from" is still important for you and your team - and I have passed this information to our Product Team.
