Why can't I see a space I created?

I recently created a space for a project team and helped them in setting up the structure, permissions etc.  I have gone to add another team member to the space today but can no longer see the space.  To my knowledge it has not been deleted (I cannot see any of the tasks/projects/folders in the recycle bin) and I am the only space admin.  Does anyone have any suggestions as to what may have happened?
