New Way to Create Dashboard Widgets

Dashboard widgets have always been a powerhouse feature in Wrike - they help you bucket your tasks so that you see a specific segment of tasks at a time (and you can see multiple segments in one window).

We've made a huge improvement to make it easier to use widgets. Two big changes:
  • You can create a widget right from the Dashboard tab.
  • You can edit a widget (this wasn't possible before).
The improved functionality is fantastic, but just as important is that you now have a dedicated pop-up to help you create and edit widgets (if you're working from the Dashboard tab). The pop-up helps guide you through the process of creating a widget and makes it easier to see exactly how you can build out your new widget.

That's enough talking though, get started and make a new widget for you or your team.

Create a Widget
  1. Click the Dashboard tab at the top of the Workspace.
  2. Hover over a Dashboard's name and click the gear icon.
  3. Click "Create widget".
  4. Select "Custom Widget".
  5. Enter a title for your widget, choose which Folder to include tasks from, and then apply filters.
The filters are the most important part of widget creation because that's how you designate what type of tasks should be displayed. Want to see tasks in a certain status? Check that status. Want to see tasks assigned to you? Use the assignee filters. There are so many options and building a suite of widgets that give you the insight you need into your work is exciting.

Our help center has detailed instructions on how to create a Dashboard widget, check it out if you want more info. There are so many ways you can go with Dashboards and if you can't tell we'd love to help talk through best practices with you. Just let us know and we can work with you on creating some custom widgets for your team.
