Create timelog entry for other users
Hi,
It would be great if the create timelog API could record times for not only the API user but other users as well. Our consultants record their working times in some client's system and we do not want them to record it in Wrike too. Deleting and modifying others' timelogs is allowed. If it could work for the creation as well it would be a great advantage for us because it enables a usage of an interface.
BR,
Peter
Hi Peter, welcome to the Community! I can understand why this would be a helpful feature for the reason you’ve outlined, thanks for sharing!
Yes please! this would be so helpful.
This would be hugely beneficial for us.
I also need to log time on behalf of other users, as some of my team are using tools other than Wrike for logging time and I simply cannot ask them to do duplicate effort. I can only agree to Peter's original request. Please take this into consideration for future releases
The Scenario we would like to use this one is when multiple people are assigned the same task, for instance, a project standup meeting. One person changes the Task to complete, but all users must log their own time on that task. completing the task removes it from a dashboard or worklist, so there is no reminder to track time the easy way - users have to search for the completed task to add their time to it. It would be great if upon completing the task, that user could "assign time to all assignees" or something of that nature.
As the person responsible for invoicing clients, sometimes I see that team members have forgotten to add their time to certain tasks. It would be great (and much more efficient) if I could simply add their time for them. Otherwise, I have email or message them with the request to add their time to the task which affects everyone's productivity.
I also agree that there are times when it is necessary for an Admin user to input time for another user. We have used other time tracking systems and this capability exists. We recently moved to Wrike for time tracking and the absence of this feature has been one of the complaints.
Hi Kristina Aberle, welcome to the Community! Thank you for sharing your feedback, I'm passing it on to our Product team.

This would be a really useful feature for my team. We have one person who collates all of our teams hours and manually inputs them into TimeLog on Wrike against individual tasks / projects. However when reporting, they all show as that user. It would be useful to be able to say which user the hours were done by. (We currently use the comments box as a work around for this, but it's not ideal).
Thank you for reaching out Anna Tracy! So, from what I understand, your team members don't track/enter time entries, is that correct?

Hi Lisa, currently an excel spreadsheet is used to collate the hours worked by team members, then these hours are inputted into Wrike by one person.
Got it, thanks for clarifying Anna Tracy. I can see how this would make sense for you and I've passed your feedback on to the team.
We don't have an update to share in relation to this suggestion at the moment, but if that changes, we'll be sure to let you know here. If you need help with anything else, don't hesitate to ask 👍

Hi.
Is there any update on this? As this would benefit us greatly as we also have people logging time in other places and also Contractors we would like to log time against.
Currently I'm adding these time entries, so it looks like I've been rather busy.
Hi Greg Gibbs, thank you for reaching out!

Hi Lisa
Thanks for the reply.
I saw that there is the option to log in as someone else, that may be a potential work around as a last resort.
Thanks
