Is Wrike really unusable for customers that already have document repositories on the cloud?

I have been told (in reviews and by your own online chat people) that Wrike requires users to link cloud based documents into Wrike tasks one at a time, making Wrike virtually unusable for projects with non-trivial document sets.  Is this really true?  I'd be  surprised, because otherwise the design of your product seems quite competent and elegant.  I must be missing something, because your competitors generally have, minimally, the ability to link to a group of cloud based documents using some kind of multi-selection feature.  Thus, you can link new tasks to existing documents in an existing cloud repository without pain.

Cleary, you guys seem like you thought hard about the design of this product.  So, obviously, you understand that nearly all of your new customers already have (sometimes very large) document repositories on existing cloud repositories, so what am I missing?

We are a relatively small group and already have over 300 gigs of pdfs, word and excel docs in the cloud.

Eric, thank you for taking the time to post this on the Community after communicating with our Support Team. For other users who are interested in this, I wanted to clarify that the request is about selecting multiple files from the Dropbox attachment window, and for selecting a folder (as opposed to multiple files) for Google Drive attachments.

Thanks.  We ending up going with Asana.  It's generally less good, however, it appears to be less buggy with respect to the features we need, such as the ability to interface naturally with existing document sets on various cloud repositories such as dropbox, etc.

I agree with Eric. The multiselection from Dropbox would be a very useful feature. In addiction, in my opinion, also file structure (like folder and subfolder used in cloud repository) is an important feature to upgrade in files management of projects. Please update Wrike to manage better al files attachment.

Bye

I really wish I had seen this before buying 10 licenses - this is a HUGE limitation and I am seeing that the capability, which is standard in many apps today was asked for back in 2017, but still not available??!!  I've gotten my organization a little pumped to use this and when I moved one set of folders on one project over two days ago, it took me 3-4 hours to go to each file - it forces me to drill down into folders each time to get the next file - now I'm scrambling to figure out how to solve this.

Is the capability on your development board yet? I would have to think a large segment of future potential users would want this - even just selecting multiple files at a time would be helpful - copying full dropbox folders is optimal.

Hi everyone! I wanted to mention here that the team intends to introduce this with Sharepoint integration by providing the ability to attach links to Sharepoint folders to Wrike. The next steps will be making the same improvements for other cloud storage integrations. We're expecting the Sharepoint integration to be released by the end of Q3 - beginning of Q4. Here's where we are updating on this integration: https://help.wrike.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/115002764629--Status-Coming-Soon-Feature-Document-uploads-from-SharePoint-Online

Thank you for your feedback! 🙌
