[Status: Not planned] Markdown formatting in Description field
It would be incredibly helpful if we could use Markdown in description fields.
e.g. instead of having to use the mouse to choose the header level, simply type ## at the beginning of the line for a level 2 header etc.
Dropbox Paper is a good example of this working well. Markdown is enough of a standard for this to be worthwhile.
I really like using Wrike as a note taking tool (for meetings etc) but the mouse-based formatting makes it rather slow.
Thanks.
Hi Oliver, thanks for sharing! I'm a big fan of formatting and making sure that everything looks organized too, and while this isn't on our current roadmap, I can definitely understand how this would be a timesaver. I'll make sure to direct other users who support this idea here :)
I reallly hope that feature is implemented fast. We rely on Dropbox Paper over here and all accountants are pretty familiar with markdown. It's a life saver for those who have to white a lot.
+1 - Please add Markdown support.
Hi everyone! Wanted to let you know that we have started a dedicated post to learn more about your experience with Wrike in situations that require real time collaboration (e.g. taking notes during meetings) - our Product manager for Collaboration experience in Wrike is eager to dive into this topic. We will be glad to see your comments here and it would be precious if you took a moment to go through a quick survey to share more detailed feedback! Thank you in advance!
+1 for this. Extremely frustrating that I have to screenshots of nicely formatted lists because wrike doesn't support formatting and markdown options.
Also, Alina, this has nothing to do with real time collaboration?
I am also in favor of this. This is something that a lot of PM tools already do and I'm not sure why a tool that lends itself to software development projects, where using markdown language is common, hasn't done it yet. Hopefully, Wrike can get it on the roadmap.
Also in favor of markdown. We will need it to document certain code snippets, which is currently impossible.
If Wrike should be used as a WIKI and you can't document properly formatted bits of code it becomes pretty cumbersome.
This issue has nothing in common with collaboration experience.
+1 In favor of markdown support - this would make my Wrike experience significantly better.
Just want to throw my vote for this too. Would definitely be useful!
Will be extremely useful to have this.
Is there any real plan to do it? It's been almost a year since it was proposed.
Massively in favour of this, would be a great boost to Wrike's functionality!
+1, would be very useful to add code in description field.
Voting for Markdown support...specifically "textile"
Maybe you can opensource your platform 😀 it'll be much easier and faster to support this :)
fully agree with markdown support!! +1
Markdown support would be great! The developers we're working with on my project are using Gitlab for their tasks. While I'm not a fan of it for project management purposes, the code block highlighting has been very helpful as we're working on different snippets in each task.
guys.... this issue has been around for over a year. This is a critical feature and it would literally take me less than a day to implement.
PLEASE IMPLEMENT... Markdown is pretty ubiquitous now + converting to/from can get expensive fast.
For many this is a powerful thing because it would provide a smooth transition from a requirements gathering phase to execution an documentation since bits and pieces of markdown content can smoothly go from Wrike to markdown docs that are part of a code/content repository elsewhere.
This is like the one thing Trello has by default that I really miss :(
I'd like to see Markdown support as well.
I think Markdown support is very important for users who place importance on efficiency. And your sales will improve as well. Please do support it.
Markdown is a must +1
🤘 MARKDOWN support pls 🤘
+1 for Markdown support in Description and Comments.
We need markdown and we need it now!
Hi Wrike,
When is this coming? It's been dodged for a long time now and is quite an essential feature. Wrike is the only collab platform I've used that doesn't allow for even the simplest of code formatting (most allow some pretty fancy language based formatting).
I've just attended the Wrike productivity tour which was a nice time, but made quite obvious that there's a disconnect between what people are asking for and what features are receiving development time.
Please give us a real update on where this is at. Even if it only rolled out in description and not comments to start with.
Cheers
We need markdown.
+1 markdown!
it will be extremely useful!
Please Markdown +1
This feature is critical for GitHub integration!
