(Not) opening tasks in the Wrike app
Installed the Wrike app on a new Surface build recently... All working fine until a couple of days ago when links to Wrike no longer open in the app - they open directly in the default browser now.
A reinstall/repair using the download didn't change this behaviour. Is there a registry change or something to fix this?
Cheers
Hi Mauricio, thanks for reaching out 🙂
Here are the instructions from the Help Center:
You can have Wrike links (for tasks shared with you) open in the desktop app by default.
Once the feature is enabled: when you click on a link to a Wrike task, you'll see a redirect page. From the redirect page:
*Not available in some browsers (for example, Safari and Edge).
Please let me know if that helped 🤝

Thanks @Lisa - interestingly this started working again, with no other setting changes, last night...
Good to have this documented here anyway.
Ok, who's inside my mind today? I was just asked by a new Wrike user how to do this, and here is the answer! Love this community!
@Mauricio, happy to hear that 🙂 But it does sound a bit weird, so please let me know if something happens again, and I'll raise it to our Support.
@Marj, thank you, your comment just made my day 😍

Lisa th box next to "Open Wrike links via App" already checked in my wrike desktop app, but wrike links for example from slack, still opening in browser, and after that the browser says open in Wrike app. How can I fix that?

I have exactly the same issue. Box is checked to open in the app but still opens links in Chrome - from Slack, from Todoist, in fact from all apps. I am on a Mac with with OS X Catalina 10.15.4

When I click on a link that is emailed to me I get the attached options but it doesn't let me set a default to the app?
Hi Julie Watt!

I'm having this same issue. It does not seem consistent either. Sometimes links will open in the app, and sometimes they open in the browser (without a prompt to open in the app).
I am using outlook for Mac.

Good morning, I have the same issue as above. Any link hat re-drects to the app fails with a java error. It doesn't matter how many times the app has been re-installed. Please help

Hey Wrike, I am having this issue, as well. I unchecked and rechecked, just to be sure... but wrike links from my outlook email are opening in the browser (chrome) without the option to open in app. Any other suggestions?
Hi Josh Keys, welcome to the Community! I just raised a Support Ticket for you, someone should be in contact with you soon 🙋🏻♀️
Similar Slack redirect problem for me. From Slack, I can click on one Wrike link and it will open in Wrike desktop but then any subsequent Wrike links just hang in the browser (see below). Worth noting -- I can get multiple links to work if i wait a couple minutes between clicks, but kind of impractical.
Hi Marc Charnow, thank you for taking the time to share your feedback, I've passed it on to our team👍🏼
Same issue here... sometimes it opens in app, sometimes it opens in browser with no discernible difference as to WHY it chooses one or the other...!!
