Autopopulating job numbers to templated tasks

Hi there,

I would like to see Wrike allow for an auto populated job number to be assigned to each incoming project so that I don't have to manually update. Or at least offer me an option to name the project with the job number and then allow me to mass update the name of the tasks with the assigned job number.

Hi Jennifer, just looking for a little more detail here.

Can you tell me about what you're manually updating, is it work-intake from Request forms? In terms of job numbers, here's where you'll find them for tasks, projects, folders

If you could provide a little more detail on what you're end-goal is generally, it usually helps us understand if there's a solution or workaround to achieve it. Thanks for posting, looking forward to hearing more 👍

I believe they are asking is there a way to tie the Wrike-generated Job Numbers into the Project/Task names automatically via the Request Form system? This would be very valuable to our organization.

Has this feature been added? I need the exact same thing for both projects and tasks. For tasks I can see that a unique number is generated but I need a title to follow that which is generated from the request form.

Hi Pamela Ferrio,

Thank you for your question and welcome to the Community!

When creating projects and tasks from request forms, if no question in the request form maps to "Title", then the project or task that is created will be titled with the new project/task's unique ID number followed by a colon and the name of the request form.

However, if you do have a question in your request form that maps to "Title", then the newly created project/task will not have that ID number in the title.

So I'm afraid you would still need to manually edit the title of your projects/tasks created from request forms to either add the ID number (if your request form has a question mapped to "Title") or to add your own title after the ID number (if your request form does not have a question mapped to "Title").

I hope this information helps and please let us know if you have any questions. 😃

I would also encourage you to check out this post in our Feedback section, as it sounds similar to what you are requesting. You can upvote, comment on, and follow that post for further updates.

Have a productive day!
