[Status: Launched 🚀] Managing documents in Wrike
Is there a way to manage and organize documents in Wrike? I know you can upload documents into projects, tasks and subtasks but I find it difficult to retrieve those documents once the task or project is completed. I understand that Wrike integrates with a variety of Cloud services but I would love to have folders within Wrike for the Documents I have shared. Any advice would be much appreciated!
Thank you!
Thanks for your post, Katie! I think you'll be interested in upvoting Ivan's post about having a Document Manager. Please let me know if his request covers what you're looking for so I can redirect customer that land here, to Ivan's post. This helps our Product Team by keeping all requests in one place 🙌
What if in the area where documents land in Wrike, there could be a foldering system wherein the end user could manage source files, working drafts, and final documents?
Love this idea, Patricia! I'd like to see something like that too, it's a good approach. Managing attachments is something our Product Team have been discussing more and more lately. Early day now, but it's a move in the right direction - thanks for continuing to provide use-cases and examples 👍
Also, just to add what I do now in case anyone is wondering...
I tend to use Google Drive wherever possible, sharing links in Wrike tasks. This gives me a place to visit and see all attachments in one place, organised by files which I create for Projects/Folders in Wrike.
Hope this helps for most document types. If and when there's an update from our Product Team, I'll be sure to update everyone on Document Manager Feedback Request so make sure to keep an eye there for click follow to get updates on new posts.
Thanks!
HI guys, just want to give you an update here in case you haven't seen it in your Wrike account.
There is now a Files View available for all paid subscriptions.
Now you can see all the files within a Project/Folder 👍
Thank you for this update. I am thrilled to see progress on this feature/topic. Is there a way to or will you be creating a way to bucket or organize files into logical folders? I would like to be able to organize my files by SOURCE, DRAFTS, and FINALS, etc.
Hi Patricia, that's a good idea! Right now, it just shows you the files associated with a Project or Folder. You've probably noticed but you can use the Filter in this view to sort the files by certain attributes which might be helpful for now 👍
Wrike,
I would benefit from the ability to filter files on only the last uploaded/updated file. Is that in the works?
This way, I could set up a dashboard for teams that only shows the latest file on a project regardless of who uploaded it.
Thanks,
Lindsey
Hi Lindsey Walters, sorry for the late reply here! That option isn't currently available, but it's possible to sort files by the upload date and also filter by upload date:
