If you're talking about the Calendar Integration:

The calendar and task due date are independent, so changing one won't update the other.

"You can schedule calendar events for dates which are different from the task’s due date. This is perfect for when you want to work on a task at a specific time before the set deadline."

If you're talking about the Calendar Sync Settings:

"Refresh period depends on your app. Google Calendar refreshes once per day, desktop apps are configurable."

what is there for an alternative to the google calendar? Does that mean that I have to wait 24 hours each time until an appointment changes? For example, if I insert the ical link directly into thunderbird without a google calendar, it syncs the changes instantly and each time. the problem is also the new date will not be displayed or deleted dates still remain in the calendar

@Christoph, there are a few options to integrate your calendar depending on which one you're using e.g. Outlook, Mac Calendar or any Calendar that supports iCalendars. Check out this link Brady shared above for full details and how they work.

Additionally, here's some detail about the sync frequency of these calendar options. For example Google Calendar and Outlook sync calendars every 24 hours. While Mac Calendar will sync every few minutes.

I'd like to use this integration to synch a Wrike Calendar with a company-wide Google Calendar (our leave tracker). This should be possible I'm assuming, but how? 

Hi Catalina, are you looking to reflect the tasks from Wrike's Calendar and show them on your Google Calendar, or are you looking to go the other way, from Google's Calendar to Wrike?

Going from Google Calendar to Wrike is not yet possible. You can move the Wrike tasks to your Google Calendar using an iCal feed from the Folder tree,

Well, there's 2 things here:

First, what a bummer that it doesn't work from Google calendar to Wrike yet.

Second, in this particular scenario it's not my Google calendar, is one that is shared with the whole company. That calendar has the leave for everyone and says when everyone is going to be out of office. I need this calendar to also show in Wrike so I can see projects and deadlines in that context. I've noticed that it's not possible to activate this integration for the whole account, only individually, which is also a bummer.

So the only question left to ask for now is, can I re-create our leave tracker in Wrike as tasks and have the whole "project" synch to this shared Google calendar I'm talking about via the iCal feed?
