Mass Duplication of a Project
Currently if I create a new Project and want to make it available to each of the 75 offices using Wrike, I have to duplicate the project 75 times so that each office has a copy.
It would be awesome to be able to mass duplicate the Project so that in one action, I could send out wholesale changes to all of our offices.
Hi Kelli, I would love to hear a little more about this. Is this a situation that comes up frequently? If you could give me an example of the type of Project that would need to be duplicated like this it would be extremely helpful.
The way we are structured, I have 75 offices in an enterprise account. Each office has access to only their own set of folders. We have created Templates (example projects) for our franchise offices to use. We track usage of the templates we have created through custom fields and the API data that we receive so that each office can see benchmarks of how they are doing against each other.
If I create a new Template/Worklow (Project) I have to then put a copy of it in each offices independent Template Folder on their account. They are not shared as we need to keep each of the offices separate (each office is independently owned and operated). They can then make modifications to the template for their specific state laws and operating procedures.
When I make these changes, I have to duplicate the template over and over and over again one at a time to make the Project available to each office.
Also, the way our offices are using Wrike- they are then taking those templates (projects) and duplicating them for every process or workflow they have for that template in their office. For example, they get a rental application- they duplicate the application project in Wrike to kick off a live workflow. Sometimes they get multiple applications at once and it would be helpful if there was a way to streamline the tedious process of kicking off multiples.
Hi Kelli! That helps so much thank you. You can use Request forms to launch templates from a Project. So when someone fills out a form a new Project (with all the tasks in it) could be launched. You can make the forms pretty dynamic so that people can select their office and the new Project is created in a specific Folder/Project.
Do you think that would help people get projects started?
I also love this idea! We currently use templated projects which are kicked off by a request form. There are times where we kick of campaigns for many different locations... but all of the details are the same in the request form, and each needs to be a separate project with separate tasks associated. It would be awesome if the request form could designate the number of projects to create and the form would populate that number of projects with those fields.
@Laura Interesting spin on this suggestion!
Hello All,
We would also benefit from a "mass copy" feature for either the standard projects or blueprints. Our company works with many clients and our services are the blueprints. Each client would have a unique set of services to be copied over, this step would take a while 1-by-1.
Thanks.
This would be really helpful. We use a project to represent a product within a brand. We create essential oils and each brand has over 100 products in multiple sizes so potentially over 1000 projects to create. A mass duplicate would allow us to create a project for each product quickly and we can track the progress individually.
This would be useful! Please allow for mass actions to be taken on projects i.e., duplication!
