Allow drag and drop of documents directly from Outlook

Is there any way you can enhance Wrike so that it allows drag and drop of outlook email attachments directly into a task (similar to how you can drag and drop from a desktop folder into a task)? Thanks

@Holly Just wanted to check if you've seen Wrike's Outlook add-in? It lets you add emails (including attachments) to Wrike tasks directly from the add-in.

@Stephanie: The add-in only copies text and attachments. No text formatting, no links, no embedded graphics ... ☹️

@stephanie yes--I mean like once you already have an email open, just drag and drop attachments directly and quickly. I will try using the forward feature too tho--just ideally i wouldn't want the email body/copy attached to the task--just the actual email attachment

@Heinz @Holly Got it! So it sounds like there may be two different requests - one related to attachments, and then keeping formatting, etc when creating a task from an email?

@stephanie, yes, I was originally asking that Outlook email attachments (s/a jpegs, pdfs, etc.) be easily dragged from an email to a Wrike task (w/o having the extra step required to save to a desktop/folder before uploading to Wrike) and then it sounds like @heinz is requesting that formatting be kept more intact...

@holly and @stephanie you're both right: I'd like to drag und drop the whole Outlook message into a Wrike keeping the attachments and formatting intact (and preferably creating a link to the original message),

Hi guys, jumping in here for Stephanie. Really like this idea! We'll make sure both suggestions, drag and drop and formatting, are brought to the attention of the Product Team and we'll post back here if there's an update. Thanks for your ideas and input here 👍

Interesting, I was actually looking for the exact same thing, to be able to drag an email and it should create a link for the entire team to be able to click on it, and it should open as an outlook file. I believe it is very important since many things are happening through emails, back and forth.

Our team would also really love to be able to drag and drop attachments from outlook too. We currently save them to a desktop folder then drag and drop from there. We work out of shared inboxes which the outlook plug in don't work from so we can't use that to solve the problem either.

I would LOVE both of these features to be available. To be able to drag attachments directly from Outlook would be such a time saver. And to be able to drag the entire msg file would be amazing as well. Curently we have to save both to our hard drive and then upload all day long. Is there any update on this feature?

Drag and drop documents (pdf, jpg, png, etc) from mail, outlook or another app directly to Wrike is a feature users are asking more than 2 years ago! I am really concerned to read Lisa both answers to this matter. Wrike makes everyone's life easier... right? why is something so simple turning into something so complicated?

Greetings from Mexico City.

I will ask again.... please get this feature in the pipeline. The current Outlook app only open a new task and more often I need to upload files to an existing task. This would save so much time for many. The presumption that every client is willing to login to a new software vs just sending an email just doesn’t work.

Still no news on this request?

Customers still mostly use E-Mail for communication. Not having these E-Mails available, well organized, within Wrike is hugely detrimental to the project success. A lot of information either gets lost or has, with significant effort, to be integrated into Wrike in a rather cumbersome way.

Hope it's getting on the roadmap rather soon.

Hey Sven,

This is working for me, I can now drag and drop attachments from outlook to the desktop app. I haven't tried in the browser, so not sure if that might be where the issue is. Have you tried the desktop app?
