Recurrent Project Duplication
Hello,
I have a project that happens every month, without fail, which is payroll processing. To help prevent payroll fraud, tasks are separated and assigned. They also have to be performed in sequence, leading up to the final task, which is to issue payments.
I can create a project template for our process, which would then be manually duplicated every month. Alternatively, it would be much better if I could make the project duplication recurrent, complete with a project and task name prefix of the month and year that duplication is set to recur in.
Automating project duplication would be really useful in this instance as it's very important that this project begins promptly and irrespective of what might be happening with the project owners at the time.
Thanks,
Adam
If I could vote a million times for this, I would. This feature would be extremely helpful! We use wrike primarily for live events in a large church setting. Each week we have multiple services and would prefer to have each week's service be its own recurring project. As it is currently, there are inefficiencies of labor required for manual duplication of weekly projects. Enabling recurring projects, with carry over of dependencies, milestones, tasks and assignees along with automatic prefix assignment of "[yyyy.mm.dd] Project Title" would be a game changer and a huge step towards convincing senior leadership for roll out to the entire organization instead of just our production department.
Thanks for your consideration!
Dave
I have the same request and need for recurring projects and automated duplication! The recurrent tasks are relatively unhelpful - but recurring projects would be very helpful for ongoing campaigns. For example, I send a monthly newsletter that includes the same tasks, assignees and descriptions - the only difference month to month is the date. Adam and Dave both mention automatic date prefixes - this would be amazing for us as well - especially if we could customize the recurring prefix, i.e. [May 2018] Project Title, [June 2018] Project Title.
We have many projects that recur either every month or ever quarter. Most have tasks due significantly before the final due dates, which are all built into the blueprints. But right now we have to keep track of activating those blueprints on time. Being able to set the projects to recur automatically x# of days before their end date would be a lifesaver.
Hi everyone, thanks a lot for your feedback here! It's all been passed on to the Product team. Emily Taylor Thank you for mentioning Blueprints here, I'm sure that should be useful in similar cases.

I wholeheartedly agree with the comments above. We have so many things that are recurring (weekly/monthly) that to remember to go to blueprints and create the latest iteration is really cumbersome. Any progress on this one?
Hi Stephanie Cargill, thank you for this feedback! It's been passed on to the Product team.
I don't have an update in relation to the status of this suggestion at the moment. If this changes, I'll be sure to let you know.
I'm with everyone on this thread and think you for taking this request to the product team.
To add to everyone's request above, when we have the feature to create a recurring project, it woul dbe nice the tasks within the project repeat as well.
Oh My! Just found this thread! We have so many recurring projects, it would be so cool if they could reoccur on their own. Currently, I use the Request Form to activate the Blueprint.
Hey again, everyone! I have good news in regards to this: the team has plans for this in their long-term roadmap. it's not going to be released very soon, but we'll keep you posted on how it goes. Thanks so much for your feedback!

It would be an interesting solve for this topic if the Automation feature was able to have a Trigger action option of "Launch [user selected] Blueprint".
This way you could set the automation sequence so that:
1. If... Any Project in the Folder/Space where I store my Projects that have this recurring need for my Blueprint to be launched...if the status of any Project in my user-selected Location is 'Completed'
2. Then...Add Trigger..."Launch Blueprint", and user should be prompted to select the Blueprint, and also to enter the # of days between the Triggering event, and the Trigger action being activated (i.e. 0d=immediately launch Blueprint, 1d= launch the next day, etc.) to create the option of a Delay between the Project A completing and Project B from the Blueprint Launching.
That's a very interesting idea Jessica Wooding, thank you for sharing, I'll make out team aware of it 👍

Are you any closer to having the recurring project functionality?
We are trying to create an annual website review process where a new project is created on an annual basis for each of our websites to ensure that our marketing team is keeping the websites updated. They are supposed to be doing this already, but since it's not in Wrike, it falls off their radar. The workaround of creating blueprints isn't very helpful since the whole issue is getting the marketing team to remember to do it.
Hi Ashley Fischer, thank you for sharing your use case here.
We check with our team and assign a status after a thread receives more than 60 upvotes according to our Product Feedback Guidelines & Statuses. This suggestion at the moment needs more support. In the meantime, if there are any updates in relation to this suggestion, we'll be sure to update you here. Please let me know if you have any questions.

I am sure that those who requested a recurring project feature, would appreciate an update now. It's been 18 months.
Hi Catherine Wetzel, thanks a lot for bumping this thread and me 🙌 The team is still interested in the idea. Unfortunately, I don't have more to share at the moment, but as soon as I do, I'll let you know.
Please let me know if I can help you with anything else and apologies for the late reply here!

Bumping this thread! Would love to see this.
Thank you for adding your support here Jenny Barry🙌🏼
Adding support for dev that will allow us to make projects (and their timing, tasks and dependencies) recurrent. We have tasks that occur weekly and it will be an unnecessary step for folks to have to fill out a request form to launch a blueprint. If they wait to do this until the actual start date, we may be accepting projects that exceed available capacity.
Hi Kelly Smith, welcome to the Community, and thank you for supporting this suggestion!
Hi - is this in the backlog at all? I get asked for this all of the time by the team and it has never been available with Wrike. It makes much more sense than using tasks for recurrent items that have multiple steps.
Hi Samantha Davis, no updates at the moment as recurrent projects are not currently planned.
