We are currently using Wrike Integrate to build an Asset tracker in Wrike to identify what asset pieces are being used for and the amount of times they are used. Are there any best practices on asset tracking in Wrike?

Hi Soraya Noel,

Here are some quick recommendations:

  1. Define your asset types ASAP and use Custom Item Types to differentiate (e.g., images, videos, templates). I'd create Custom Fields like: Asset type, Purpose or project used in, Usage count, Owner, Date added/last used
  2. Centralize Asset Storage - Use a dedicated folder or space for asset tracking and keep it structured (e.g., folders by category or status).
  3. Tag or Link Assets to Projects/Tasks to associate assets with tasks or projects where they’re used. This enables traceability and helps count usage.
  4. Use Dashboards to see the most-used assets, assets by category, assets approaching license limits (if relevant), and then create reports to track usage over time.
  5. Standardize naming conventions to ensure consistent asset names and tags to avoid duplicates or confusion.

Also might be a good idea to restrict other users from changing any of these configurations.

I am also trying to accomplish this but with IT Assets (Printers, Monitors).  Is there a different course of action that I would take?
