[Status: Launched ๐] Copy custom views to different folders
AfixadoCustom views are a very helpful feature - but if you want to apply the same view to multiple folders, it can be an annoying work.
Please let us be able to copy views from one folder to another!
This feature request is similar to https://help.wrike.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/360051551674--Status-Investigating-Custom-Views-Push-view-to-child-projects-and-folders, but more universal.
Thank you for posting it Florian Kislich!ย

Hello Jason Pontius
please support this request by upvoting it, as it is quite similar to your issue you posted here: https://help.wrike.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/18250540293655/comments/20507298199319
Thanks in advance,
Florian
Yes, I fully support this request!ย Recreating view formats across multiple folders/projects is extremely tedious.ย Over time, our views evolve and we need to apply the new formatting to other folders.ย This would be extremely helpful.ย Thanks Florian Kislich!
Thanks Trevor Tollefsbol for your support!ย

I completely support and agree with the request to use the same view parameters to apply to other projects and folders. It is so tedious and inefficient to go through and constantly customize views in every location over and over.
We have lost hours copying views to other projects or folders and many, many sug-folders.ย This is a major inconvenience and in my mind a bug in the software.ย If a task or action in software needs to be done multiple times, the product manager should be planning and building these efficiencies for the users.
I think this would be a super helpful feature to have on Wrike as it allows multiple people to see the necessary information and filter out info that is only relevant for certain team members. Currently, only duplicating to the exact same project/ folder seems somewhat pointless. Would love to see this feature developed!

Thank you all for your valuable feedback! Our Product Team is aware of the popularity of this suggestion and we will keep you updated in case there are any improvements ๐ย
Massive yes to this - I lose SO much time rebuilding the views across multiple projects and folders. It would be great (besides being able to copy views) if a hierarchy could be selected, e.g. if the main project has xyz views that it automatically exist in the subprojects.
I concur.ย We have many hierarchical folders and making a change to a view is time consuming if we want the change to be reflected across the whole folder hierarchy.ย Copying (or ideally, saying, "apply this custom view to folder/projects X, Y, Z, A, B, C") would be very helpful!
Chiming back in here. We recently were discussing this with project managers, and manually setting up views on every project, every subproject, and even in folders, is such an exhaustive process. What we would like to see is a way to save a view layout as a template. So when you go to a project, you can not only create new views from the built in Wrike drop down of views, but then there is also a drop down for table views of "layouts" that we can apply to the custom table view.ย
For us, we generally have about 4 different table views that we use, so it would be very straightforward to create a new project, create new table views, apply the layout we want... done. Way faster than manually setting them up each and every time.
We have a temporary work around that is not a substitute for is proposed here, but works after a bit of initial effort.ย In our blueprints, we create all of the custom views that we use on a regular basis.ย Then, when a project is launched the pre-defined views in the blueprints are propagated into the new project at it's specified location.ย ย
I still fully support this request because we have over 10 blueprints, each with 6 different custom views.ย That becomes a lot of updating when we evolve our views.
Trevor Tollefsbolย Thank you for the idea!ย I actually did not think about trying that. I will definitely add our standard custom views to the blueprint for all new projects.
It is not a solution, but it does help reduce the amount of manual effort in creating views.
Thanks.
+1 for Trevor's suggestion; we use that at well with our blueprints, pre-create all the views and builds that you want there. But he is right; its quite painful when you make updates to them and you then you still need to make a lot of manual adjustments. It's better than nothing though ;)
Hi everyone! As this idea reached the 60 upvotes' threshold, I asked or team to help us add a status here. I'm excited to let you know that they are currently researching ๐ค We're expecting to have a further update here in Q3, and we'll let you know how this research is going.
Huge thanks for your feedback and votes here ๐

Lisa Sounds awesome! ๐ค
My organization would greatly benefit from this. We have many spaces and hierarchical folders for our departments/teams and would like the ability to "mass copy" or "mass apply" custom views across the organization. We are having to manually set up the view across all spaces and folders and is currently simply busy work at the moment, as there are several to get through.ย
We agree! Our team would greatly benefit from this. In addition, if we could save preset filter/"view" for the whole instance at an admin level, so that it is a preset view that others on our team will also automatically have, that would be awesome!ย
Whoa custom views saved in Blueprints - I never ever thought of doing that! Thank you, thank you, thank you - this Request would be amazing and the comments are a gold mine!
I'm so exited you made this suggestion possible really quickly! Thank you so much!!!
So great to see this come to fruition so quickly!
is this function available to use yet?
