Multiple triggers to create OR / AND logic in Automation?

Hi there,

Right now my ability to utilize Automation is somewhat limited because I can't use multiple triggers to kick off an action. For example I want a task that uses the "Deliverable" custom field AND the "Brand" custom field to be certain values before triggering the next step.

It would be a huge benefit that would allow for much more utilization of this awesome feature. Currently I am very limited because I can only specify one trigger and we have so many different situations that require different approaches based on multiple conditions.

Totally agree. We have so many different project types that it is not feasible to set up many automation because of parameter restrictions. It would be ideal since I know how beneficial they would be for our team!

This would be a great feature.  I recently added an automation rule to tag assignees if their tasks have not been updated for 3 days, but that created too much noise since it reminded them about tasks that are scheduled for weeks from now.  I would really like to be able to use and/or logic to build rules like: if a task has not be modified at all (no status update or description change) for 3 days and the start data is 3 days ago or more tag the assignee.

Similarly to David's feedback above, I posted this on another thread, but it also co-insides with this thread:

Another item we would like to see is the ability to have multiple trigger items. For example, we would like to be able to @mention the task assignee if the task status is X AND the scheduled Start Date is today (or will be in the next day since there is no "today" option).

We use a Scheduled status that means that the task dates are set based on the project plan build-out but the task is not ready to begin. We use a Ready to Start status once the task is ready for the assignee to begin (meaning they have all the necessary details and approvals to complete the task). If a task is still in that first Scheduled status, we don't want to @mention the task assignee because they have not yet been given what they need to complete the task.

What we would like to see is the ability to say "If the task status is   Ready to Start   AND   the   task start date is today    @mention the task assignee"

Hello, is there any update on when multiple triggers may be available in the automation engine?

I think I have found a work around with Spaces and Folders to 'inform' Wrike on which projects go where but, ideally, I'd love to be able to have one automation rule where a project whose status changes AND has a specific custom field can be moved to a specific Folder or Space. As it stands now, it seems I have to create extra Spaces or Folders to make the singular rules work. Thx

Hi Kimber Karn, welcome to the Community, and thanks for posting!

At the moment, there are no updates but in case there is any news we will be sharing them over here and in our Weekly Release Notes 🙋🏻‍♀️

This would be extremely helpful. We use the automation rule:

- If all predecessor task statuses change to completed, the subsequent task status is changed to "available to start"

It would be great if we could add one more step to the trigger:

- If all predecessor task statuses change to completed AND the subsequent task status is "Blocked"

THEN: the subsequent task status is changed to "available to start"

We want to utilize the functionality of the automations to push tasks to throughout the project, but sometimes those tasks are started before they are considered Available to Start. In those instances, the user will put the task "In Progress" or even "Complete" but when the predecessor tasks are completed, it will change the task status to "Available to Start"

The AND logic would help eliminate this issue.

We'd like to see this too. In our case it would be a few triggers of IF predecessor status is changed to X and IF subitem is assigned to Person1, then Person1's item would change to Status Z.

Is further functionality going to be added to this? Multiple triggers for single automations and AND/OR statements would be incredibly useful and help reduce the number of automations/workarounds people are having to implement still.

Hi Kelsey Smith, thank you for chiming in. May I please kindly ask you to elaborate on your use case so we can better understand what you'd like to achieve?

Currently, you have the option to add conditions to your rules in order to better specify when they should be triggered.

Looking forward to your reply!

Hi @...—sure thing!

Because automations are limited to 1 trigger each right now, I have had to make multiple automations for different triggers that all have the same end goal essentially.

What would be extremely helpful is if I could set up 1 automation that functions similar to this:

Hope that makes more sense!

This would be lovely. Any updates on if this is going to be implemented? Similar functionality would be useful in report filtering as well.
