We aren't specifically creating content calendars - but we do use the calendar feature for many things - whether that is tracking out-of-office requests, or large portfolio projects, that have lots of key dates and milestones - we find calendars are one of the best tools in Wrike that we use every day!
We use calendars to help communicate key dates across our program. This way we can create on view across our strategic projects to help keep everyone aligned.
We use calendars to:
- Have a look of holidays and/or sickness about out team
- Have a look about our Social Media Planning for posts
- Have a look about our blog editorial plans for our customers.
We use calendars to look at task past due and due ... easy way to see a quick visual of these!
Hi Lisa I think we're the kind of use case you're looking for.
I'm attaching some screenshots. If you think we're a fit, just let me know, I'll be glad to help.
Big thanks for raising your hand, everyone! We may follow-up with you in the coming days ๐

Yes, we have a Calendar that contains layers for each of our Marketing Channels (e.g. Email, SMS, Mobile App, Social, Web, etc) and the calendar ONLY shows when we have a communication going out (e.g. Send / Push / Post / Publish, whatever your channel calls it).ย Because the team uses Blueprints for these repeatable processes, the Blueprint already contains the Owned Channels custom field to designate, in that one task in their Project, the task where the communication is being deployed.ย The title on the task says "Email Deployment: (Add Email Name Here)", for example, so that we can quickly see on-calendar the name of the campaign/communication without having to hover in order to see the project name.ย In addition to Calendars, it also allows us to visualize in Wrike Analyze to show line charts, indicators, and year-over-year data on our communications.
Neyl Walecki Looking at one of your screenshots, the one with the tables that list the channels and type of media. Would you share how you built the project to display those items? Was it via Custom Fields?ย
Meredith Selden Will you be able to share how your bluperints look for this and how your calendar looks? We are having a hard time achieving this. Could you also share your Wrike Analyze widgets? I'm curious to see how you are pulling the data.ย
Hi Lea Labastida,
Yes, youโre right. The list of channels and types of media are custom fields, and we use them a lot :-)
We use pre-created blueprints to build the content calendar each month. Each client has its own blueprint with everything pre-populated. Tasks live inside these projects. Sometimes we move tasks to another project when something is delayed to the next month. Our goal is to deliver everything planned for the month because our contracts with clients are defined as a fixed monthly fee for a set number of posts and activities.
