Wrike Proof | Upload files within a comment

If a client wants to have many images changed in a design he always has to write e.g. image number into the comment and upload the image file in the wrike task.

Other tools solve it way faster. They allow uploading files natively WITHIN a comment. This way it's perfectly clear to which comment a file belongs to

In addition to my initial comment I have come across this feature request => Upload files as guest user without account

I have seen that there is no way for a guest user to upload files. Example: Guest user wants photo to be changed. His comment would be: „Please use this photo“ => but there is no way for a guest user to upload an additional file! Please implement this feature because this is really heavily missing!!!

Thanks for posting, Michael Pucher

Regarding uploading files within a comment - the team has long-term plans to add this - we'll keep you posted once we know more 🙂

Hi Lisa,

great to hear ... this one is urgently needed too ... especially for guest comments!

Thanks and best regards

Please add this feature!!

This is something our guest reviewers ask about at least once a week. It's the one major thing that we still have to use email for, and that often opens the door for reviewers to make additional comments via email so we end up with edits in multiple places instead of all in the Wrike proof. This has been a standard feature in every other proofing tool we've used.

We often spec out our designs with clients using the review/proofing viewer and it is really handy for both sides to be able to upload attachments to comments.

I would suggest these initial features;

  • Option when doing a guest review to "Allow file attachments", like allow download / versions / see comments.🚚
  • Limit the size of file attachments to 50mb.🛴
  • The attached files should not appear in the "FILES" section so as not to mess up the attachments already in the task. They could just appear in the tasks activity stream and obviously on the proofing comment. 🦄

I heartily agree with Richard's first 2 suggestions.

On the topic of where files appear, this would be an instance where the ability to sort, tag or categorize attachments would be a huge help. Here's my post about that issue. https://help.wrike.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/360049531854-Tagging-Categorizing-attachments

So a guest reviewer would add attachment & in our FILES section, we would see the header that says X FILES IN REVIEW as well as a category for FROM COMMENTS (could include files attached both from task comments as well as review comments & would continue to display the date of upload & name of uploader). Ideally there would be some way to easily jump from the related comment to the file or vice versa rather than just going by reading the filename in the comment in case we're dealing with low-info filenames like stock image #s.

This is a very necessary addition to proofing. We like to consider Wrike our "Center of Truth." Until this feature is added, we have to go to Dropbox, Box, Google Drive, or emails to get the assets the guest reviewers and internal reviewers want to share. We miss assets, or have to hunt them down for hours. The time saved by using this system, we lose hunting down assets. Is there any estimation of when this will be implemented?
Thank you so much!!

Hiya,

Has the feature for uploading images or files via client review comments been bumped up at all?

It is a very big issue for us as we are proofing mainly visual material and have reached a point of considering a change in platforms without this feature.

It would be great to get an update.

Best,

Negar

It seems that this feature will not be considered at all. It's a big issue for us too, but nothing seems to happen here.

We have moved on to another feedback tool since a while and we are not really using it anymore. Makes no sense without being able to upload files to a comment!

Best Regards
Michael

@... Thanks for your feedback.

Unfortunately this doesn’t really help. Comments are pretty useless, if users do not have the ability to upload files.

But it seems that there is no way, this important feature (important for overall user experience) will get implemented … 😟

This of course also leads to the fact that some client users (where this comment upload feature is obligatory )  and who could learn to know Wrike for the first time, are automatically directed to other platforms by us, simply because of this missing feedback feature … so Wrike is loosing leads = loosing potential new customers.

Best regards

Michael
