Communicating Releases - Best Practices

How are you filtering and communicating releases to Wrike users within your organization? Do you ask users to follow the release notes? Do you pick and choose the applicable releases and then sharing via @MyTeam?

Hi Jen,

We have a few different approaches internally, direct email and newsletters, account managers etc.

For Community, we post the most important releases every week in the Weekly Release notes section - the Community Team only post here, so if you click follow over there, you'll get an email notification each week when a new article is available.

When there's a big release which will improve the ways of working, you'll always see it listed in the Weekly Releases, and we also post a new article with some further details and use-cases if possible. On these posts, we encourage everyone to share how they're using the new feature and any feedback for the Product Team. (here's an example)

Are you deciding on how to announce releases in your own business?

Thank you for your response, Stephen!

Yes, I would like to know how other Admins/Acct Owners communicate releases to their Wrike users and how often. I am familiar with and follow Weekly Release Notes and the Wrike Lab. Should we once a month communicate the updates/changes to our employees, filtering relevance. Should we ask they follow the Weekly Release Notes? Should we filter relevant release and distribute upon the release?

I'd be interested to hear this too Jen.

I think asking your team to follow the weekly releases is the best approach. You can link the section in any onboarding material you have for new people, or create a task in Wrike and @mention everyone asking them to follow the section.  We already do the heavy lifting to make sure we include only the important stuff that affects your Workspace so it's the most relevant updates.

Another approach I've heard from others is creating a task from the email notification you receive using the email integration. This means when you or any admin receive the email about the Weekly Releases post we've published, you can create a task from the email and then @mention MyTeam or any user groups you need -  downside is this is a little manual for you.

Again, I'd suggest asking them to follow the Weekly Releases, this also gives them the opportunity to visit the Community giving them the chance to learn best practices and get involved with discussions 🙂

Hello All - I've asked my operations team to follow the weekly release notes and then at our monthly meeting we discuss which releases are relevant to share with the marketing division.  To share with our Wrike users, I use the "Tip o' the Day" Announcements 📯 which is a series of backlogged tasks in a new Space called "Wrike Knowledge Base."  I have an @AllUsers group that will get the announcement via their Wrike Inbox.  I will also copy/paste the announcement to our regular email, just in case. 📩
