How do I enable the Old Timeline
Folllowing List for Post: Old Timeline
[this list is visible for admins and agents only]
Hey, Tony,
Visit the labs section to enable the old timeline.
https://www.wrike.com/labs/
Hi Tony, from what I understand, they've just renamed it to Gantt Chart. Let me know if that helps.
Hi Tony,
You should still be able to access Old Timeline from Wrike Labs - check the box to enable, then refresh your Wrike workspace.
Hope that helps!
Carolanne
I would also like to access Old Timeline. When I view this link shown above: https://www.wrike.com/labs/, I do not see it anywhere to enable.
@Trevor - No, they actually had a previous version that looked and functioned differently.
The option to enable the Old Timeline view seems to have disappeared for new Users. Only those that clicked on it in the past can see it. How do New Users get to see the old Timeline, which pretty much all of us prefer to the newer Gantt Chart view.
Hey, reverting back to the Old Timeline won't be available going forward.
What would help us now, is to hear what about the Gantt Chart we can enhance.
Our Product Team keeps a close eye on feedback posted here so please be sure to provide feedback we can really take on board.
If you could include what you'd like to see changed/added/removed, why it would help your team and if you have a workaround you're using now, please share, it might help someone else here with a similar obstacle.
Thanks guys!
In Old Timeline mode, I could use the search feature in the top right corner of my screen to search for key words within the old timeline. In Gantt Chart mode, when I search, I can only view in list format (making dependency creation more difficult). Not sure if this is associated with Old Timeline -> Gantt Chart or an update to the Search features......
Hi Meredith, thanks for your input here. Just to be sure, you mean when you complete a 'global search' in Wrike (top right-hand search bar), the results would be displayed in a list but you could change the view a Timeline format? I don't remember this being an option but it has been a long while since I used the Old Timeline. I've passed this information onto the Product Team for review.
For now, it would be great to hear a little more about how you would have created dependencies between tasks this way so we can think of a different way to achieve this. 👍
Hi Stephen! Yes, I would use the "global search" to put in a key word (i.e. Menu) then check the box to "search this folder/project only" so that it displays in List View within the project. Then I could click on the Timeline view to see the searched term in a gantt chart form to quickly assign dependencies. Typically used when creating new projects from scratch where I'd just drop in a giant list of tasks then view them on the gantt chart to set dates and dependencies - the search field made it easier to find "like tasks" when there were a ton of tasks within a project. Thanks for passing along the info to the Product Team!
@Meredith, I totally get you now! It's actually something I used a lot myself (Sorry, I'm must be still restarting my engines after the holiday! 😁)
This is something that the Product Teams know people want to use again and it's something that's certainly on their radar. When I have any new and more solid information to share I'll come back to you here. Thanks for raising it and providing your use-case!
