Custom fields - option to add N/A

We have a lot of custom fields (around 50) and we use them extensively. What we would need is an option to mark field as N/A, since we don't always need it. Mostly we have this problem with fields that contain date, since it doesn't allow you to input anything else other than date.

Hey Aljaž, thanks for sharing. I'm wondering what would be the issue if you left the Custom Field blank? Is it affecting how you create Reports for example?

Thanks for posting 🙌

The issue is that we cannot differentiate between fields that are empty because somebody forgot to input data and those that are blank on purpose. I know that this can be saved by monitoring coworkers activity, and we are already working on it, yet it would still be useful to have this option.

I see, and this is a good point. I suppose it's more than just having "NA" typed in the field, rather, you would like Wrike to recognize that this means the Custom field doesn't have a value at all. Thanks for sharing this idea, I'll be sure to pass the feedback to the Product Team.

As for monitoring activity, I wonder if having one more checkbox Custom Field that asks "Have all Custom Fields been applied?" as a safety net. You could then filter by tasks that don't have this ticked and prompt the task owner to review all Custom Fields and update the checkbox if it's ready for reporting etc.

It's not a direct solution to the problem but it might help avoid any Custom Fields being left blank for now 👍
