Burn Down Graph

We're using Wrike to manage quite complex projects (hundreds of tasks, divided in sprints) and we've not found a way to produce something similar to a burn down graph, showing the estimated versus actual velocity of a project or a part of it. Velocity could be expressed either is number of tasks or hours.

Here is an example:

We are extensively using this graph as an high level KPI and we're struggling to find something in Wrike summarising the status of a complex project in a very clear way.

Is there anyway to get something similar or equivalent ? How do you manage a complex project overall status ?

Hi Marco, there's no way to replicate that graph in Wrike right now, but our team is thinking about burndown charts, so if it's okay with you I can move this post to the Product Feedback section and share it with them?

Right now we have Project statuses to give the team a very high-level understanding of where the Project is. We also have a baseline analytics chart, which allows you to compare tasks' currently scheduled dates to what the dates were previously. In terms of other existing functionality - Reports can't create graphs like the one you have, but it might be another good way to get a bird's-eye view into how things are going. You could potentially report on tasks within a project and group by status so you can see how many tasks have been completed and how many are still active.

Hi Stephanie, I confirm we're able to build a burn down graph of a project sprint exporting all tasks through a report (it's the only place when the completed date is available) into Excel. Anyway, I strongly encourage the Wrike team to improve project related reporting.

I will move this post in the Product Feedback section, as you suggested.

Thank you very much for your prompt and detailed feedback.

Thank you so much! This is something on the team's mind so it's incredibly helpful to have a use case like this to share with them. Let us know if there's anything else you'd like to see or if we can help with best practices 🙂.

This would be a great feature to have. Any update to see if this has been accepted and added to product roadmap?

Hi Jose, thanks for voting, it might be best to post a new thread in the Best Practices section if you're looking to find out what others are doing for this (I'm curious too!) 🙂
