Progress % for complex projects
We are currently using Wrike as our PMO tool. We have portfolios, programs and large projects. Currently our large programs have multiple projects within them. They also have sub projects within them, however requirements are not clear across all projects within a project.
E.g. Project X has 7 Minimal Viable Products, therefore 7 Projects within Project X.
Project 1 is 99% complete.
Project 2 is 40% complete.
Project 3 - 7 has no data in but is captured.
The main progress on Project X is therefore around 65% but that is not the case as the bottom 5 projects have not been taken into account.
Can we add one more measurement at project level to measure the progress based on project timelines or do you have other ideas that can be used instead of task duration average and completion? Will that solve our problem?
Thank you for sharing your detailed use case Irene Snyman! I'll now share it with the team responsible for progress metrics.
Could you please tell me if there are tasks created under Projects 3-7? Because the more "Not started" tasks you have under your subprojects under Project X, the less progress it's going to show.

There are not really tasks under projects 3-7 yet as we are not aware of what the requirements will be or look like.
I think that if you create a standard number of tasks under those projects, you will see progress less then 65% because they will now be taken into account and will have the "not started" status. Could that help Irene Snyman?
