Ability to View Project Window & Task Window Next to each other
One of my team members brought up the question of being able to view both the Project details and the Task details at the same time. Often, there is information at the Project level that needs to be referenced when working in the Task Level, but currently one would have to switch back and forth, have multiple instances of Wrike open or Copy/Paste the information to all tasks. We'd like to avoid the duplicated work of copy/pasting the information from the project into the task if it's not necessary. Much like we see the task list window next to the task, it would be great if we could opt to seeing the Project view there.
Hi again Kelly :) Would you like to be able to open the Project/Folder details as an overlay window on top of a task? Or are you looking to see them side by side?
Also, I would love to hear what type of information is being referenced at the Project level?
Hi again Stephanie! :)
Our thought was being able to see them side-by-side so that when/if there are notes in the project level that we need to reference, we can see them both.
One example is that an account manager might put some details that pertain to the project as a whole (working file location, render location, order numbers, etc) in the project level and rather than having to copy that info to every task under that project, our artist would be able to see it in the project details.
Another example is our project or account manager might use the project level to place the details of that project as a whole prior to breaking down the project into tasks. In that case, being able to see the bulk information while breaking those tasks down, would be fantastic. Right now, when we need to do that, we open up another instance of Wrike in a second browser window and place them side by side but a view option to have the project window and the task windows next to each other would be helpful in that situation as well.
Thanks!!
Hi Kelly, hope you don't mind if I jump in for Stephanie :) Those are some great ideas and knowing more about your use case definitely helps. Thanks so much for taking the time to share this with us and other teams!
MANY of my colleagues have difficulty visually distinguishing Projects from Tasks. I think this proposed suggestion could also alleviate this frequent frustration.
Hi Nisa, thanks for commenting! Are there any particular points which you think make it harder to distinguish the two?
Hi Anastasia, the Task view and the Project view are so difficult to distinguish because they look almost exactly the same in layout, color, and organization. Further, they are both viewed in the same "window." Per Kelly's suggestion, if we could view the Project and the Task at the same time, that would make it nearly impossible to confuse the two. Alternatively, Tasks and Projects could also be better distinguished by perhaps making the background of the Project view gray or some other distinguishing feature that makes it immediately recognizable as not the same at the Task.
Hi Nisa, that helps to explain, thank you! I normally check the top of the view to see if there's a colored bar at the top (if there's a bar, I know for sure it's a Project). I know that's a very specific detail though, so I understand the confusion.
